Great that Tommy is a Ranger again.
I bought this DVD specifically for “Legacy of Power” episode, it’s big. That episode shows a brief history of the power rangers to the Dino dispute Rangers.
The rest that are featured in this DVD are “Benefit in Shaded” which is continuation of the episode “Legacy of Power” where Tommy becomes a ranger.
Then there is the episode “Diva in Damage” it features Kira and her best friend who is now a shipshape star, and where people are being turned former and wrinkled by Mesagog. Through the course of the episode Kira tries to display that it’s not what’s on the out side that counts but on the in side
“Golden Boy” is another episode, in this one Zeltrax ends up creating his occupy son, who battles out the rangers, at first they struggle then the rangers earn abet on their feet.
“Game On” is the last episode on this DVD and it’s about Ethan that gets addicted to this game he is playing, that he spends most of his nights at the rangers meet out state. There is a monster lose with the ability to send the rangers into that very game, so that’s what he does with Kira and Ethan.
I Can’t say great about the episodes except that they were all alright but Legacy of Power was the best. I wasn’t really a fan of Dino deny because it was unbiased too peculiar compared to Wild Force, Light Hurry or any other series before Wild force. But you guys might like those episodes.
Another thing that I wanted to bring up was that, Tommy some times is the center of attention in some of the episodes and it gets to be really annoying in the sense that Tommy has had his fun as a ranger and it seems like he is stealing the situation light of the other rangers. Other than that he is huge fair gash the region light on Tommy and it would be icy.

“Do you *really* want to know the answers to the questions you’re asking? ” – God (from the movie)

In 1990, a man named Neale Donald Walsch experienced a car accident resulting in a broken neck, which propelled him into a downward spiral of job loss, poverty, and homelessness. Eventually, he began to ask existential questions that many people ask, “What is the meaning of life? Why am I here? ”
In 1995, he heard a relate asking, “Have you had enough yet? Are you ready now? ”

God had reach calling to respond those questions–and many more. This inquire of and acknowledge format served as the basis for the Conversations with God series, as well as the books What God Wants and Home with God.
Conversations with God the movie dramatizes events leading up to those mystical dictations, flashing support to Neale’s struggles with finding a job–and even finding food in alleyway dumpsters. Alone and with minimal personal belongings, Neale lived in a tent, scrounged soda cans for money, and pounded the pavement in the hopes of securing a stable job.
Slowly, things originate looking up when he gets a job as a weekend DJ and finds a decent set to live. But when the radio set becomes bankrupt, Neale begins to write down his frustrations and questions–and the results were an fantastic gift to humanity.
I admit, after seeing the debacle Indigo (which starred Neale Donald Walsch), I didn’t have high hopes for this movie. However, not only was I very surprised at the quality of Conversations with God, I was deeply moved. (And it was a Divine touch I sorely needed at the time.)
I was unaware of Neale’s background until I watched this movie, and realizing what he had advance through made his books even more meaningful. Stephen Simon, the co-founder of the Spiritual Cinema Circle and director of Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Reach, also directed the CWG movie.
The musical net was magnificent and interesting, as was the cinematography. The writing was tight, with no word wasted, and the performances were truly honorable. Henry Czerny gave an incredibly right portrayal as Neale–even capturing Neale’s mannerisms and speech patterns. The supporting cast was also astounding–so props to the casting director, too!
At times astonishing heartbreaking, Conversations with God can depart you closer to your beget divinity, encouraging you to realize that you’re the one you’ve been waiting for…and that God will never leave you or forsake you.
Here are but a few wise nuggets from the movie:
“Instead of worrying about what people judge about you–concentrate on what YOU deem of you.”
“Don’t disqualify or marginalize the message because the messenger is fallible.”
“What is God’s most vital message to humanity? `You’ve got me all sinister.’”
“My most well-liked communication is through feeling. Feeling is the language of the soul. If you want to know what’s upright for you about something, recognize to how you’re feeling about it.”
“A life without expectations of specific results–that’s freedom.”
“Ask what would worship do now and I’ll be there always–in all ways.”
“I am not concerned about your worldly success…only you are. You are not to wretchedness about making a living. Good masters are those who have chosen to produce a life–not a living. Go ahead–do whatever you really appreciate. Do nothing else! You have so miniature time. Why would you want to slay it doing something you don’t want to do? That isn’t a living–it’s a DYING.”
I found the Conversations with God DVD quite synchronistic. At one point, a ask about personal direction popped into my head–and the phrase about worldly success answered it specifically…mere seconds later! Several times, I was moved to tears–and I was grateful for the reminder that God is as stop as our breath–and that answers are readily available to our most personal questions. (Truth be told, it’s more like I bawled my eyes out–especially during the last few minutes of the movie.)
Although I rented this movie through NetFlix, I loved it so considerable that I’m buying a copy through Amazon.com. It’s definitely a movie to acquire, especially since there are so many levels of meaning and wisdom found throughout.
Poignant, surprising, but ultimately soaring with inspiration, the Conversations with God movie arrived at the perfect time in my life. After reading several of Neale’s books, it was gripping to arrive to understand what he had been through prior to his revelations–and how this all-too-human vessel came to channel profound wisdom that has changed thousands of lives over the last decade.
Janet Boyer, author of The Succor in Time Tarot Book: Describe the Past, Experience the Cards, Understand the Expose (coming Descend 2008 from Hampton Roads Publishing)
This film was billed as being based on the “Conversations with God” books but the reality is that this film is the life fable of author Neale Donald Walsch from homelessness to best selling author. When the “conversation with God” does advance, it’s halfway through the movie and lasts all of about 10 minutes, and it’s more of a lecture than a “conversation.” Though making a film of those books would be nearly impossible, I had hopes that someone’s creative genius would arrive up with a arrangement to translate the ideas of the book series into relatable situations, shrimp dramatic examples sprinkled throughout the film. I did not request what came across as a vanity project on the allotment of Neale Donald Walsch to have his life myth played out on mask.
Having said that, aside from the mistitle and claims, the film does do something rare that most films don’t cover: homelessness. We rarely discover homelessness in films and this film humanizes the very people we often pass on the street without a word or see. This film also shows a lot of Oregon, with scenes in Portland and Ashland. And I absolutely adored the cute, quirky redhead young lady on the bus. There are some spiritual gems in this film, particularly the phrase one should always ask oneself: “what would care for do now? ”
While I’m inclined to give this film 3 stars, I deem it’s colossal that more spiritual films are being made and want to befriend the development of that genre of films by supporting films like these, no matter how grand they can be improved upon. I certainly wish that “CWG” would have been a great different movie or advertised more as a bio-pic than being an adaptation of the book series. The films “Quiet Warrior” and “The Celestine Prophecy” were better done, but I level-headed did scurry away from the theater inspired by this film and it made me feel more compassionate towards homeless people, which Portland has a lot of, so it can’t be all poor.

WARNING — this entire documentary is included as a bonus on disk 2 of “Crusade: the Crescent and the Injurious”, also made by the History Channel. Not only that, but at the time I am writing this review, “Crescent and the Deplorable” is selling for less than $15, for 2 disks, with bonus material, while this DVD, “Knights Templar” is selling for about $22 and contains no bonus material at all.

“Knights Templar” is a splendid, not enormous, documentary. The yarn is very helpful, if brief, but the film footage is definitely NOT up to the History Channel’s usual quality. They expend a lot of Dark and White footage from what looks like a very crude budget film — people swinging weapons like they don’t know what to do with them. No true actors performing for the camera, unbiased background footage with voice-over.
My recommendation — if you are keen in the history of the Knights of the Temple of King Solomon, recall this DVD, but as the bonus disk in “Crusade: The Crescent and the Spoiled”. That, by the procedure, is a Broad DVD!
The history channel usually does a suited job at mixing the informative side of history with the Hollywood side of visual effects and this episode is no different. With clips of fighting, knights on horseback, valid geographical video and their novel technology of 3D maps, they do an outstanding job of giving you a paunchy conception of the terrain mentioned and the layout of the events covered. The Knights of Templar are very considerable shrouded in mystery so the daunting challenge was handled well in not unprejudiced covering what is known but logical explanations to a lot of the unanswered questions left late. I don’t want to go into any detail and give anything away for those who have not seen it, but, from understanding to their demise, from logical motive of their creation to how they fared in battle it is all covered in an easy to follow and informative device. These knights played such a immense allotment in history and it is all covered; first standing army since Roman times, first actual bankers, historians, what did they derive in their tunneling under the Temple of Solomon? And as I said, what they don’t have legit answers for they have experts with logical explanations and hypothesis. I plan I knew a lot about them, but really learned a stout deal. Recommended highly.

First, let’s find the positive out of the plan. I’m definite the main reason the majority of guys are going to seize this is because of the shower scene. Let me impartial form one trace about it and depart on. The english version has an EXTENDED version of the shower scene. There is serene one shot that’s missing (unbiased to be proper) . However, the Japanese side of the disc does indeed have the UNCUT version of the shower scene. So feel free to go nuts, lift cover shots etc. It is in here.

Now on to the rest of the review. This release is in everyway friendly to the unique US release.
It has the UK version of the movie (which is vastly extended over the US version) and the Japanese (completely un-cut) .
Buy,Download, Or Stream Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie! Click Here
The menu system is also a immense improvement (since the unusual DVD didn’t even HAVE a menu system) . The extra’s, while sparse, also accomplish it a lop above the current release.
The only thing I could possibly fault this release with is that it’s only the Japanese version that’s completely un-cut, while the UK version is merely extended.
Even that’s not powerful of a fault. I don’t typically behold my anime with the Japanese track, but with this one, I’ll effect an exception.
Once you glimpse the Japanese version, you’ll realize honest how awful the english dub is. The dubbing team had to add to the dialogue to fit the mouth-flaps. This made for a lot of (for a lack of a better word) listless dialogue that made some scenes go on painfully too long. It killed a lot of the promenade of the movie. The new Japanese dialogue fits the scamper of the movie better, and the reveal acting is simply better.
While I may have actually grown to like KMFDM, Alice in Chains and Korn, thanks mostly to this movie, I can’t content that losing their music is a limited loss considering how noteworthy better the dialogue is in Japanese.
A few notes on the movie itself. Yes the station is paper-thin. But the fight scenes are what the movie is all about, and in those, Street Fighter II shines. There are a few parts with terrible animation (crossed eyes being my major gripe) . But taken as a whole, this movie is very well set aside together. It’s well worth the cost. Halt away from the unique US release at all costs.
There’s been many Anime’s based on fighting games, including Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, Tekken, etc… But, “Street Fighter II: The Intriguing Movie” is probably the most well made one out of the group. Exceptionally well drawn characters, unbelievable fight scenes, coherent yarn, there is a lot to like about this Anime. If there is anything that stands out, it has to be the awesome fight scenes. This Anime fully takes advantage of the fact that it is an animation, and not a precise movie with loyal actors, and choreographs some spectacular moves together. Obviously, the reason I mention this is other Anime’s have failed that simple task and churned out some proper humdrum fight sequences. Street Fighter II: The Sharp Movie, however, is a trusty eye-candy.

Movie Title: Donald in Mathmagic Land Donald in Mathmagic Land is available for streaming or downloading. |
This fondly remembered 27-minute short subject from 1959 was previously released on the runt edition 2-disc “Walt Disney Treasures: The Chronological Donald, Vol. 4″ in 2008. Although slight to only 35,000, apt Donald fans might instead want to track down a conventional or collectible copy of that two-disc site which included this short alongside 30 other cartoons from that era as well as ten 1999 Donald Duck shorts and other special features. The recent pre-order label seems particularly steep for a bare-bones disc with a 27-minute program, and if this disc is similar or identical to the version previously odd to the Disney Movie Club, it will include nothing besides the main feature and previews for upcoming Disney films and DVDs.
One of the last four theatrical Donald Duck cartoons, Donald in Mathmagic Land didn’t pick up the Academy Award for 1959, which went to John Hubley’s Moonbird, but it was nominated for “Best Documentary Short”. In retrospect, it’s probably not only the best educational short of that year, but one of the best of any year. Hamilton Luske directed this lavish featurette, which despite clocking in at only 27 minutes, is filled with modernistic slow ’50s style art, dense and lavish color, and our popular, outrageous duck.

Teachers loved to project this film for their classes, as it was so far above the host of now decently buried educational films of the time. This DVD opens with a montage trailer of scenes from the “Unbelievable World of Disney” releases, which have the characteristic stare of the four color Technicolor of the ’60s, and that places this film in its rightful millieu. In his biography, ragged NBC head, Pat Weaver recalls that Disney offered NBC its film and TV catalog in the mid- ’50s if NBC would seize a fourth of the then fledgling Disneyland Park. David Sarnoff, president of RCA, which owned NBC, flatly refused. The Disneyland TV explain therefore continued on ABC, with a title change in the 1959 season to “Walt Disney Presents”. Due to the runaway success of Davey Crockett, however, ABC wanted Walt to preserve cranking out westerns, so in 1961, the program moved to NBC, with a original name many viewers remember, “The Unbelievable World of Color”.
“General” Sarnoff had made sure that RCA’s one goal was to sell color TV sets, since most homes peaceful had dim and white, and “Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land” aired on its novel network as section of an hour present hosted by a unusual character, Ludwig Von Drake, called “An Adventure in Color”. I very worthy wish that had been included on this DVD, as not only is the program lively in its gain true, as well as a approved of Von Drake fans, but it’s a intelligent snapshot of the early days of color TV, as the mallard professor talks about color, with continual asides like “you people with sunless and white sets will have to imagine what this looks like”. Then there’s the theme song, “The world is a carousel of color, color, color. Fabulous, amazing color.” The accompanying insensible motion nature shots made for an unforgettable, engaging entrance to the note, which segued to the magic paintbrush, the eminent trademark of Disney educational films. Even in the days of shaded and white sets, Disney had farsightedly chosen to film in color.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Donald in Mathmagic Land! Click Here
An early VHS release for video stores included the entire note, but so far, the other allotment hasn’t made it to DVD. This shorter featurette, however, stands alone, and has far outlived most of the other inviting shorts from the note. It’s also on The Chronological Donald Volume Four. Some reviewers have celebrated that ten bucks might be a bit high for an under half hour prove, and it would be nice to have some extras like interviews with animators or commentary on the short. However, anyone who’s ever seen this film will probably fair be delighted to gain it on DVD. There’s also an “enhanced” teacher’s edition for about $50. That may seem steep, but you net a “printable teachers’ guide” and public performance license to demonstrate it in class, not unlike when educators of an earlier era would bustle to rent the film reel from distributors, and it probably ranked as the most checked out educational film.
The math in this film has been criticized, and some of it seems a bit of a stretch, but anyone keen in the Golden Allotment or Divine Proportion, as it is variously termed, or patterns in nature, or basic principles of how a guitar works likely first got the bug watching this reveal. Someone might even have hit the billiard hall armed with tricky shots from the film. Some of the chessboard and geometric shapes parts might seem more like an excuse to gain some animation, but they are detached exciting, and this is not the only wildly speculative Disney film. If a few bits seem somewhat dated, that’s all portion of the fun of a period film, and for animation lovers, this one is a appreciate trove. So in many ways, this bare-bones, budget edition is the best of all worlds, and will likely entice novel viewers to join customary fans on the well-trod path with Donald in Mathmagic Land.

Perhaps that’s because it’s from Aardman Studios, noted for “Wallace And Gromit” and “Chicken Accelerate.” Aardman is also well known for their claymation style of animation, which is lovingly preserved, albeit through the exercise of CGI in “Flushed Away.”

The record revolves around Roddy (Hugh Jackman), a family pet who gets flushed into the sewers of London by an unwelcome guest named Sid (Shane Richie) . Sid takes over the world “up there” while Roddy is left to fight for his life in the seedy underbelly of London’s sewers. In all actuality, though, life in the sewers isn’t too terribly dreadful. When Roddy arrives there, he finds a arrive replica of London pudgy of busy streets and shops. He decides that he must pick up home, and seeks out the support of Rita (Kate Winslet), a female rat who’s known for shady dealings. On her tail (pun intended) are the goons of The Toad (Sir Ian McKellan), who says that a ruby he owned which fell from the crown of either Prince Charles or the Queen (I don’t remember which) was stolen by her and he wants it support. Of course Roddy thinks that by assisting him in finding the ruby, he’ll accumulate attend in return to secure aid home. What he gets instead is more danger when Rita steals something else from The Toad.
From there, the legend becomes a beautiful decent action/comic anecdote where The Toad’s cousin, Le Frog (Jean Reno) and his henchmen try to retrieve the item that Rita has stolen. It’s an integral section of a master idea for revenge by The Toad on all of rodent-kind. Along the intention, Roddy and Rita become cessation friends and Roddy decides that he has to relieve Rita and her family. It’s all tied nicely together in the waste and is definitely fun to seek.

The snarl talents are amazing. Jackman, Winslet, McKellan and Reno all do astonishing jobs. Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum in “Lord of the Rings” and did a lot of the physical movements of Kong in Peter Jackson’s “King Kong,” plays one of The Toad’s henchmen along with Bill Nighy, current of the latest “Pirate’s of the Caribbean” flick.
The humor is, as expected, well grounded in British comedy and uses slapstick at will to enduce laughter from children. There are plenty of crotch injuries, one fart joke, and a few pokes at stereotypical Americans and the French. It’s all done with respectable intentions and there’s nothing really offensive here.
It will fill the attention of both young and old-fashioned, but children will probably delight in it more than adults. I enjoyed it but I have a tendency to bask in comic children’s flicks like this. I’m also a fan of Aardman’s other work, so perhaps I’m a miniature biased. Rest assured that whenever it leaves the theaters and eventually hits the DVD rack, I’ll be one of the first to pick it for myself and my family.
The first two reviews lovely well summed up this spacious movie! Amusing, expeditiously paced and lots of in jokes, past film references, stare gags from other Aardman films, a excellent epic and was well executed!
I highly recommend this movie if you treasure “Chicken Rush”, and “Wallace & Gromit”. If you have not seen any of Aardmans other shows/movies you will miss a few gaze gags, but that is certionly no reason not to look this! So in the end; This movie is a must stare and definitely fun for the whole family.

Doctor Who altered its course with The War Machines. Rather than travelling to a distant planet to meet strange-looking aliens, or to Earth’s past to encounter a necessary historical figure, War Machines is spot in comtemporary London, the swinging mid-60s, and it shows! For the very first time in the series’ young history, the Doctor and his companion(s) face a modern-day threat, the first time, that is, when they are astronomical enough to interact with the rest of the characters, unlike Planet of The Giants.

As Professor Brett states, WOTAN is ten years ahead of its time. Well, maybe not ten. Perhaps only five years, which would save it smack down in the beginning of the Pertwee Years, legal next to a simlar account, Mind of Bad, about a machine taking over people’s minds. If anything, The War Machines foreshadows the Third Doctor’s era. Hartnell dabbles with electronic gadgets, works with the military (not UNIT yet, but very UNIT-like), and endures incompetent politicians to prevent a menace from taking over the world. Sound familiar? The Pertwee Years four years early. In fact, if you re-hash this script and spend it toward another celebrated 60s TV program, The Avengers, it would feel apt at home. I anticipated John Steed and Emma Peel to demonstrate up on my TV shroud at any petite.
Incidentally, the plan expressed that Doctor Who finally has taken its intended beget with The War Machines is about as bogus the Doctor’s background being changed during the McCoy years to be something more than a timelord. The intended course in any series is how it originates, not how it becomes. The originators of any series always deserve the “intended course” mark. This is not to say that the recent direction of the note is unpleasant, but let’s not claim that this is where Sidney Newman & Verity Lambert envisioned Doctor Who going.

Basically, The War Machines steers Doctor Who in a unique direction, a very subtle foreboding of the early 70s, worth every one of the four stars I gave it. However this anecdote could have been a five-star beauty. How you ask? Where have you gone Ian & Barbara. The Doctor may as well have been companion-less. Dodo barely features at all, disappearing somewhere in episode two, never to be seen again. We are given the revelation at the waste that she has decided to pause in London, and bids the Doctor goodbye by relaying a message through the current companions, Ben & Polly. As the Doctor says, that’s gratitude for you, not even showing the decency to behold the Doctor off personally after being given the experience of her life. Dodo should have gotten a more astronomical exit. As for the aforementioned original companions, Ben & Polly fit in with the swinging 60s era, and Polly is lovely to the leer, however they are no Ian & Barbara. In retrospect, War Machines could have been the perfect swan song for Ian & Barbara. I can fair gawk them telling the Doctor that “we have decided to remain here” at the destroy of this tale, fate having steered the Tardis encourage in their enjoy time finally. An opportunity sadly lost…
This is an scrumptious memoir from the William Hartnell era of Doctor Who. The Doctor and his companion, Dodo, land in 1960s London shortly after the completion of the Post Office Tower. A notice novel thinking computer system, called WOTAN, is housed in the tower. The computer can judge for itself, and it decides that humanity is not properly lustrous to be in control of the Earth. WOTAN takes over men’s minds by means of hypnotism, and has them build noteworthy war machines in rob locations throughout London, and the war machines will be customary to attack London and bring London, then England, then the entire world under WOTAN’s control.
The account seems rather dated to current sensibilities. The war machines themselves are especially comic in today’s world of microchips, and mini computers. These great machines are portable computers, complete with 1960s era computer tape reels, and rather pointless weapons. However, to 1960s youth (and we must remember that Doctor Who was a children’s demonstrate) these machines must have appeared quite shocking. If you’re familiar with later era Doctor Who shows, the war machines peer a lot like the cleaners from Paradise Towers in the Sylvester McCoy era.
This yarn was missing entirely from the BBC archives by the mid 1970s, but through the diligence of fans it has been restored. There is a short documentary narrated by Anneke Wills that explains how the sage was pieced benefit together. The other extras that are on the DVD include: excerpts from the BBC children’s program, Blue Peter, that shows the Post Office Tower (or GPO Tower as it was known) being built, plus an appearance by a war machine touting the upcoming original Doctor Who Adventure, a brief then and now feature showing locations aged for the memoir as they exist today, and a short documentary about the GPO Tower narrated by the customary Post Master General. There is also commentary by actress Anneke Wills, who played Polly and director Michael Ferguson, plus information text. It’s not overly heavy on extras, but the ones that are there are quite lively. The quality of the relate is pleasurable thanks to the restoration team’s efforts.
While William Hartnell is not my common Doctor, but I did like the fable. The computer taking control of its creators would be ancient again throughout the modern race of Doctor Who, such as the Pertwee yarn The Green Death. The War Machines proceeds at a nice swagger, and gives a exciting concept of English society in the mid-1960s. This is also a well-known chronicle regarding the Doctor’s companions. First it is the last record to feature his companion Dodo, although they really did a lousy job writing her out of the series. Second this record features the first appearance of novel companions Ben and Polly. Third, I gain this is the only complete anecdote existing featuring Ben and Polly.

Movie Title: Dune Dune is available for streaming or downloading. |
A beginning is a very lovely time. In 1984, the long awaited film version of Frank Herbert’s account recent Dune came to the silver hide. What happened next? The worst box office danger in history! Dim to say it, but mostly everyone who saw Dune hated it except for the few who actually read the book! I’ve always loved this movie but if I ever said that in public I was usually beaten with gargantuan rocks or a baseball bat. This review isn’t really about the chronicle of the film or it’s direction. Its about the confusing truth of their actually being two editions of the 1984 film version of dune.
Now here is where the entire apt purpose to this review comes in. Many may wonder, “why was I watching this on Sci-Fi channel and the director was Alan Smithee instead of David Lynch? ” Well dinky Jimmy, the retort is complicated. David Lynch knew when he made Dune he was in grief and slice the film down incredibly to accomplish it fit the desired time limit. Lynch was slightly happy with this carve of the film and hoped that that would be the last he would have to do with it… Nasty!
A few years when Dune finally was on TV, a special edition version was prepared containing an HOUR of extra footage. A novel narration covers the film and practically spells out every bit of information to the audience this time. The studios were ready to point to it when suddenly David Lynch says “Woa woa, I liked it the plot it was!” and refuses to have credit for this modern longer version. The studio then takes out Lynch’s name and replaces it with the unfounded Alan Smithee who doesn’t exist. With me so far?
Buy,Download, Or Stream Dune! Click Here
The version of Dune available on DVD and VHS is the David Lynch version which in my thought actually works better than the longer version. It cuts to the perambulate and doesn’t race as badly as Smithee’s version does. For those of you who have never seen the Alan Smithee version, its not available to pick but it’s shown on the Sci-Fi channel twice a year so there you go!
So, even though critics bombed it, audiences hated it, and David Lynch disowned the longer version, I detached savor this movie for some mysterious reason! If you’re the type who likes curious artistic movies like 12 Monkeys, 2001, or Blade Runner, you will probably like this. Also anime fans, this is good up your alley! For all you other people, catch the hell out of here!
p.s. Toto’s collect is a masterpiece! Yea… of all bands… Toto…
David Lynch’s (Eraserhead, Twin Peaks) adaptation of Frank Herbert’s defining saga ‘DUNE’ may very well be, if truth be told, the most anecdote enterprise, and in many ways the most rewarding, of Lynch’s work thus far.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Dune! Click Here
Dune is a difficult movie to review, if only because there is no easy (or maybe I should say simple) plot to contemplate at it. At its core though DUNE tells the tale of Paul Atreides, a young man whose destiny as a Messiah of worlds echoes that of such classics like Brazil or Spartacus, where seemingly ordinary men become fabulous beings. This however is an over-simplification, DUNE is built from a collection of stories and legends that build a novel whole -perfectly captured by Lynch.
Make no mistake, this movies begs to be seen in its unique 2,35:1 widescreen format. Freddie Francis’ photography of the barren Dune world is simply incredible, and even though some of the special effects may seem conventional when compared to today’s standards, the improbable designs by Anthony Masters will simply pick your breath away. The DVD edition, while not anamorphic, is very well presented, sporting a very high quality video transfer and edifying sound. A brief, if yet racy, collection of production notes are also included, as well as cast and crew bios and the novel theatrical trailer in widescreen format.
DUNE seems dreary at times and it may not be for everyone -but then that’s always been the trademark of Lynch’s work, I mediate. Collected, DUNE is an satisfactory example of how a complex narrative can construct a Sci-Fi movie be truly narrative. Couple that with the improbable designs and the handsome photography and you got a winner here. Highly recommended.

These movies were even better than I remembered them. Owen Wilson is comical and charming, and Jackie Chan is as improbable as ever.
I like action movies with some humor and these fit the bill. I’m not into martial arts for itself and had bought Shanghai Noon on VHS mainly because Owen Wilson was in it and I like his comedy. The combination of him with Chan is, at least in these two movies, irresistible. I don’t know about anyone else, but these are sizable movies for me.

Other than the explanation of where he (Blade) came from, who he and everyone else is, at the beginning, this film stands nicely on its possess. for those of you that know the first one, then this opening explanation will be a limited irritating (and a tad confusing, but it becomes sure later) . The opening does smell strongly of franchise potential, being repeated in all the inevitable sequels quiet to reach. Once past this though, we are lead through a massive fight and action scene that sets up the whole movie. and warns anyone who can’t stand Hong Kong action scenes that they are probably watching the immoral mask.

The movie is essentially a platform for Snipes to have fun with his most noted character. And he does so with very piquant results. The movie has reasonably well rounded characters, suspicion piled on top of everyone, some incredible spot pieces and a helpful sense of humour. The impact of all the blood and guts is reduced by the sure fantasy of the fights (wires and SFX a lot of the time), but its quiet lovely much.
The lead performances are all very respectable, although some of the peripheral characters are a tiny too hammer fright. Luke Goss demonstrates gargantuan potential, although you would need to peek him without the produce up, body doubles, and special effects to really contemplate. and there is occasionally that race to yowl “when will I be notorious.” and the pure blood female vampire who takes a shine to blade is well worth being bitten by.

Overall it feels less like a sequel and more like a stand alone movie. with this in mind, I consider its in fact better than the recent (a rare example of the exception that proves the rule) .
Blade 2 was diffenetly a movie that shot down the theory that sequels are worse then the first movie. Again Snipes went above and beyond during the fight scenes in this movie. It was fascinating to eye how the directors were able to effect moves from the wwf(or now, the wwe, and bring those moves into blade. I understanding the unpleasant guys in this movie were the best, and my hat comes off to the make-up artists. All in all, Blade 2 was a gigantic movie, with awesome action scenes, tight dreadful guys, and a trustworthy location.
