Inspirational
My husband and I watched this video while expecting our first child. We both found it fascinating and informative. The midwives and other caregivers were helpful and knowledgeable. The testimonials from the birthing mothers was absolutely inspirational, as was the incredible footage of their births.
I am not sure how my own childbirth experience will turn out, but it was wonderfully refreshing to see real women engaging and connecting with their deepest selves in the intimate act of giving birth.
A Vitally Important, Truthful, Informative Film!
As a graduate student I have studied childbirth for years, and I have come face-to-face with the staggering statistics which show us the damage that UNNECESSARY medical interventions enact upon mothers as well as their new babies; I also spend a good deal of time reflecting on the fact that such statistics about the medicalization of birth–which views birth, most basically, as akin to an illness or disease which needs treatment; reflect only physical damage, nevermind the emotional.
This film gently takes your hand, walking you down the path of a new way of seeing birth and women’s bodies, in a way that is not preachy or intended to frighten. The experts featured in this film, including several MDs and OBGYNs, are phenomenal. This film IS about orgasmic birth, but understands “orgasmic” as akin to “ecstatic;” the film seeks to convey the message that birth can be and is, for many women left to birth on their own terms, an event not filled with horror but with extreme joy, pride, and triumph. For such women brave enough to take control of their own bodies and families the results can be life-changing.
EVERYONE should see this film, not just expectant women, as birth is a fundamental life event which affects us all!

Outside The Box? The Box Was Destroyed!
I don’t say this often but I loved everything about this film, from concept down to execution. It wasn’t without its flaws but I’m not going to waste any words on them because I want you to see this, whether you rent or purchase. With as many remakes as some of us pay to see, it’s about damn time we spend some loot on something truly original, that’s what we’re always whining about, isn’t it? Not enough originality?
I’m not going to waste your time blathering on about the subtext, I have no idea whether it was intentional or not but there’s certainly something there for those interested in reading between the lines, I mean males treating a female like nothing more than a sex toy and punching bag (read: object) screams “deeper meaning.” Really though, it’s flat-out disturbing, unique and I’ll be darned if it didn’t put me on edge in a major way. Fact is…the dead girl scared the crap outta me with her growling, snapping and bloodthirsty glare.
This is one hell of a powerful horror film and, not to diminish anything Trent Haaga has done before this but, without a doubt this is Haaga’s best work yet. Am I gushing? If I am, it’s because I was really excited to see this flick and I wasn’t disappointed. I was disturbing, scared and, sorry folks, even a wee bit aroused. This could just be written off as misogynistic fanboy fantasy fodder but I saw so much more; a breath of fresh air in a stale, rip-off riddled zombie sub-genre. If you’re a zombie fan, purchase this. If you just love original horror, purchase this. I for one cannot wait to hit the store for this gem.
Brilliant, disturbing and original!!
Despite the few plotholes concerning the end of the film, this movie is a very different, very unsettling and a very well acted breath of fresh air to the horror genre. Jenny Spain puts on a remarkable performance in her silent role and the leads were very well cast. I just finished watching the film not 10 minutes ago and the final creepy frame of the movie is stuck in my head and I’m sure will do the same to anyone who sees it. If you’re bored with today’s watered down PG-13 crap that Hollywood calls “horror”, check this film out.
Deliciously dark
It’s a dark movie that is unlike any you’ve seen before, pushing over a previously untransgressed line– immediately appealing to me. This is not a standard scare-flick with basic characters, but depicts how far young men will deviate from the norms of behavior when it comes to the object of their desire. This is a rewarding and highly memorable trip down a rabbit hole to a dark land of horror. The dead girl herself is a stunning presence, and the sound environment is unnerving. If you are into horror, dark fantasy, and taboo subjects, it’s essential viewing. There’s no over-explanation through obvious exposition, so there is an air of mystery and unknowing throughout the movie. It is like a surreal element dropped into high-school life that spreads a poison through it, though that poison comes from the minds of the boys, and the dead girl is just a catalyst, though a dangerous one! I’m looking forward to putting this in the DVD player for guests, unsuspecting or otherwise!

unrated version not much different from the original
First off I would like to say that this was the funniest movie of the year! I watched it in theaters 5 times and I laughed as hard the 5th time as I did the the 1st time. As for the unrated version there is about less than a minute more that was added here than the orginal version. If you had a choice of chooseing the rated or unrated, you cant go wrong with either of them. As for the rest of the DVD, its awesome. It has access of the greatest quotes and songs that were played in the movie. Plus, they have the video for “You Wanted More” by Tonic which I was extremely happy to see because it didn’t get enough airtime on the music channels. Overall, I would say this is DVD is a good example of one of those DVDs that show what you can put on a DVD. Plus, having the trailer for Man On The Moon was a major plus!
Not Much of a Difference in My Opinion
What was the point of releasing an unrated version of this movie? The only scene that was added was Jim on the counter with the pie (and this was included in the outtakes of the rated version). Plus, the scene in the beginning involving Jim’s dillema of what kind of Jim, Nadia would go for, wasn’t included. To me, there wasn’t much of a difference between versions. The movie itself is one of my all-time favorites and I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t already seen it. It’s just that there was too much hype surrounding this “unrated” version. My advice, go with the rated version instead.
Unrated!
Don’t believe the hype. The unrated version you couldn’t see in theaters? Please! About 1 minute of 1 pair of breasts is the only nudity in this film. Funny at times, but if you think you’re going to see something that wasn’t in the theater you’ll be really disappointed.

Entertaining
I had low expectations of the film after hearing some of the many disappointments. But to my surprise, I found it very entertaining. It was a fun and had great martial arts sequences, good action scenes and a nice sense of humor to it. The story line for an action flick kept me attentive as well. The plot moved along well and didn’t feel like there were any slow moments. I wasn’t comparing it too hard to the original cartoon because it’s a different time now and artists can have some creative liberty. It was still fun to see some of the old familiar characters. Great job with Snake Eyes. Overall, good entertainment.
The Movie was an explosion of action and special effects! But……
Yesterday, I received my 2 disc edition of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and I looked over the sleeve and it looked nice and got me all excited, reminded me of the G.I. Joe days of when I was a kid watching the cartoon! Then, I later last night put the second disc in to check out the extras! HA that was a joke! The only extras on this 2 disc is the making of the movie, and the special effects behind the scenes thing. Now granted those were cool, but the only real reason for the second disc is for the digital copy! I honestly think this movie is not worth [...] at all, maybe 16.99! Big deal you get the digital copy! How many of us out there really use the digital copy? Where was the deleted and alternate scenes? Is it really coming to the point where things are going to Blu Ray and not to regular dvd which their are a heck of a lot more dvd player owners then blu ray! I say if you are looking at this review on deciding whether to purchase the 2 disc, wait till it goes cheaper and get it! Don’t spend over 10 bucks for it! Thanks for your time I hope this helps!

My son and I love this movie. There is so much action and amazing graphics. With the quick delivery and low price, this was a best buy for me.
