Movie Title: The Secret The Secret is available for streaming or downloading. |
The Secret is one of the best produced and edited DVDs of its kind that I have ever seen. And the line-up of teachers and presenters is agreeable. There is only one reason I give this DVD four stars instead of five. The Secret is about the Law of Attraction, and how we can expend that Law to “attract” into our lives anything we want. But it spends 95% of the time talking only about being focused on what you want (rather than what you don’t want), and generating obvious feelings about that. It only spends 5% of the time making it positive that what we really attract into our lives is the people, circumstances, and opportunities that lead us to what we want. In other words, when we expend the principles mentioned in The Secret, doors start. But we have to observe those doors for what they are and go through them. And that involves action. Many people who discover The Secret scamper away with the impression that visualization and sure feelings is all it takes. It isn’t. You composed have to do something. As long as you sustain that in mind, The Secret contains information that can be life altering. Luxuriate In!

Steven Lane Taylor, Author of Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide For Living Life In The Divine Flow
With all the hype about The Secret, I was fervent to bag out what everyone was talking about. I bought both the DVD and the CD spot and watched with vast anticipation.
Perhaps because I have studied and utilized for over 2 decades some of the most grand mindset tools, processes and technologies for creating what you want, my expectations may have been skewed compared to those who have never heard of or applied such concepts as the law of attraction.

That is not to say the DVD/CD does not have value. I am certain there are people whose lives have been changed by it. I reflect they did an outstanding marketing job. An outstanding “packaging” job in creating The Secret. The attraction principles do work, and they provided a enormous introduction to those who have not been exposed to them before.
For me personally, my first disappointment was the fact that what was dramatically (and cleverly) built up as “a secret” – which to me something you know that I don’t – was hardly a secret. These principles have been around for centuries, have been mainstream for decades, with thousands of books, seminars, etc. covering the same principles. I don’t indulge in books, tapes, etc. that overpromise and under whine. So, to me, hardly a secret.
My second disappointment was the lack of depth around the subject matter. If you want more in-dpeth and leading edge info about how our thoughts compose our reality, invest in the DVD “What the Bleep? ” It offers lively leading edge quantum physics principles, along with big animation explaining in simple layman terms, why and how we acquire our realities. In fact, some of the scientists on The Secret *first* appeared in “What the Bleep? ” I almost felt when I was watching The Secret, that they copied “What the Bleep? ” in many respects, although at a more superficial level.
My third disappointment/concern is how some Secret followers will explain the messagge in the movie. Again my perspective may be slightly skewed because I trained in and work with NLP (Neurolinguistic Programmming) which works drectly with the subconscious mind for helping people originate accelerated breakthroughs in their lives. The suggestions, recommmended processes, etc. in The Secret work primarily with the conscious mind. Yet it is our subconscious mind that drives 80% of our behaviors and outcomes in life.
Yes, if you practice their recommendations for months and months, the suggestions may eventually sink into our subconscious. However there are simpler, quicker ways to execute what you want. The other portion of that, because the subconscious mind does drive our results, there are many blocks — such as “secondary gains” for staying stuck, values conflicts, microscopic beliefs, etc. – below our conscious awareness that stops us from having what we want. Because the movie does not address the dissimilarity between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind, and treats the whole topic superficially as why some people manifest and some don’t, it creates the illusion that as long as you practice their suggestions, you will change your life. There is so worthy more than what is presented as to what are the differences that earn the dissimilarity to creating what you want.
While I am delighted that so many people are becoming more aware of these principles, I am concerned about the fallout as well. I am hearing people do potentially snide things like go into deeper debt, making dramatic life changes with blind faith, because the DVD tells them they can have what they want if they fair possess, etc.
I would suggest if you remove the DVD to hold a few things that most resonated with you, and apply them to your life, as long as you don’t sacrifice or overhaul other areas of your life without looking at the expansive record. Sort out the glitz from the message. Also check what is not just for you and let go of it.
I would recommend the movie “what the bleep? ” It goes hand in hand with The Secret, although more in depth and was the modern movie that brought these concepts mainstream.
Third, I recommend that you check out book on NLP (as well as hypnosis which is a sister discipline) . Out of all the mindset tools and technologies I have traditional in over 20 years, I have found they are by far the most noteworthy. One of the best “beginner” books is: “NLP: The Current Technology of Achievement”.
Good luck and may your stagger be an abundant one!

Warner Bros. started releasing episodes of the award-winning “Batman: The Spellbinding Series” (BTAS to fans) on DVD in miserly single-disc editions containing four or five episodes apiece. Fan complaints and well-liked sense have finally made Warner Bros. realize the potential of this acclaimed and hugely common series and have released the first volume of episodes in a deluxe package: 4 discs, 28 episodes. The shows are presented in production order, with a few variations to attach the multi-part episodes together. The sound is an improved Dolby Surround 2.0, and the represent is heavenly. There are some extras — not a titanic amount — but the actual feature here is the shows themselves. There has rarely been an appealing display that has achieved this level of quality writing and artwork. Heck, rarely do LIVE action shows do this sort of quality!
BTAS was released as children’s programming originally, but the animators, directors, and writers turned it into something of adult complexity (not that kids don’t care for it too, but adults tend to be the biggest fans, mostly laughable book lovers) . Freed of the constraints of selling toys, the filmmakers created an intricate indicate that was moral to the gloomy, psychological side of Batman and his adversaries. Instead of sticking to stupid formulas usually associated with titillating TV shows, the writers made distinct each episode was something fresh, and kept drama always at the forefront. The animation is spectacular and fluid, the action scenes have a kick to them generous to many movies, and the orchestral scores contribute to the feeling of something special.
Not all the episodes are gigantic, of course, and some of the early ones in this package exhibit the creative team struggling to ogle the direction and tone of the indicate. But most episodes are generous to superb in quality. The writing team did a spectacular job at fleshing out minor baddies like Mr. Freeze, The Clock King, and The Angry Hatter into the full-fledged vast villains with complex motivations. The assert work by familiar TV and movie actors also raises the quality of the characterizations. For many people, Kevin Conroy IS Batman…his shadowy, edgy direct is forever rooted to the character.

Here is a breakdown of the episodes and features on the four discs:
DISC 1: Contains episodes “On Leather Wings,” “Christmas with the Joker,” “Nothing to Scare,” “The Last Laugh,” “Shapely Poison,” “The Underdwellers,” and “P.O.V.” The first episode is the best on this disc, with Batman facing the fearsome Man-Bat. The exhibit really hit the ground running, but the immediate follow-ups are a bit ragged. “P.O.V.” has moments of interest because of its modern structure, and “Nothing to Alarm” has a grand finale, but the two Joker episodes are particularly poor; the point to hadn’t quite figured out its style yet. Also on this disc is commentary by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski for “On Leather Wings,” and a two-minute demo they did to sell the peek of the series.
DISC 2: Contains episodes “The Forgotten,” “Be a Clown,” “Two Face (Parts 1&2),” “It’s Never Too Tedious,” “I’ve Got Batman in My Basement,” and “Heart of Ice.” The last is one of the most current episode of the series, introducing the astonishing re-imagining of Mr. Freeze as a tragic figure. “Two-Face” is also a capable villain origin epic. The other episodes are minor, with a bad Joker and Penguin episode, but “It’s Never Too Leisurely” is an appealing non-super-villain yarn. The bonus feature on this disc is a substantial 18-minute documentary about the series, with interviews with the producers, writers, and some of the actors. There’s also audio commentary on “Heart of Ice” with Timm, Radomski, and writer Paul Dini.

DISC 3: Contains episodes “The Cat and the Claw (Parts 1&2),” “Explore No Substandard,” “Beware of the Gray Ghost,” “Prophecy of Doom,” and “Feat of Clay (Parts 1&2) .” The point to was clearly taking off at this point; only “Prophecy of Doom” is a bad episode. “Beware the Gray Ghost” brings relieve Adam West to the Batman series, and is one of the most inspirational of all the episodes. “Feat of Clay” contains pretty animation, and “Cat and Claw” gives us the improbable relationship between Batman and Catwoman. The bonus feature is a Batcave tour, basically a few screens of text and some connected montages of images from the explain.
DISC 4: Contains episodes “The Joker’s Favor,” “Vendetta,” “Alarm of Victory,” “The Clock King,” “Appointment in Crime Alley,” “Exasperated as a Hatter,” and “Dreams in Darkness.” Two lesser villains, Clock King and Exasperated Hatter, become the focus of mammoth episodes. “The Joker’s Favor” is one of the best Joker episodes, and introduces Harley Quinn, who would become one of the show’s most common creations. The two Scarecrow episodes aren’t mighty, however. The bonus feature is a whisk for some of the other DC heroes.
One warning: If you take this package, be prepared to inspect your free time gather drained away! It’s impossible to conclude watching episodes once you begin, and most of them reward multiple viewings. Recommended as a MUST for all animation and super-hero fans.
These are presented in ‘logical’ order, which resembles production order with some tweaks. For instance, Two-face allotment 1 and Two-face fragment 2 were not assign into production encourage to encourage, but obviously it wouldn’t manufacture any sense to assign them on separate DVDs.

My fiance and I both loved this movie when it was released and we smooth do. When we heard it was coming out on Blu Ray and on top of that 3-D we were beyond inflamed. Well that excitment was crushed when we got home, place it on and were almost given instant headaches from the feeble school red and blue 3-d glasses and the fact that no matter how hard we tried to stare it, it unprejudiced was nowhere approach 3-d quality. We sat there contemplating whether or not it was unprejudiced us or if the 3-d aspect of it sucked that awful and we came to the conclusion that it was definately the latter. So after a half hour of trying hard to like it we switched it to 2-d (thank god for blu ray for having that option) and saw how in 1080p it was almost 3-d itself.
Needless to say the very next day I went wait on to the store I purchased it from and changed it for the regular blu ray version (which was $5 cheaper than the 3-d version and totally worth the acquire, 5 stars for that version.) It was very dark that it did not work out because such an improbable holiday movie with such spacious animation would be a no brainer to have as 3-d but unfortunately it fair is not worth the headache and strain.

I went to explore this movie tonight with a mentally handicapped friend – “Michael” — (from a L’Arche home here in Winnipeg, Canada) . We were the first persons in the theatre for the very first evening showing in this city – and we were the last to leave. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves – enchanted by the movie’s subtleties and happily exhausted by its roller-coaster rides.
Time and again, Michael (who is sensitive, compassionate and with a salubrious sense of humor) turned to me in the darkness, smiling in appreciation at the loyal same moments I turned to observe his reactions. Each time this happened, it was at a moment in the film when some cramped detail, perfectly captured through estimable ‘cinematography,’ brought moisture to my normally cynical look, and a warm smile to Michael’s innocent face.

Some examples: There is a lone, gloomy child on this apparent ‘dream train’ to the North Pole – a girl of about ten or eleven years, and like a painting reach to life, the miraculous technology at work in this film captures the particular sensibilities of this compassionate, shadowy youngster — We glance miniature mannerisms of someone comfortable with herself in a procedure the other (ten or so) white kids on the reveal are not. And the do is profound — the movie audience, including some children of that same age group, went soundless at such moments in the film.
My friend Michael – who has a ‘savant’ genius for perceiving my emotions, and expressing them for me out loud in public — Michael turned to me with a gratified smile when the girl on the state reaches out to acquire the hands of the poorest boy, sitting alone in the rear compartment; and later, she hugs two other boys, (one of them the central character) — at their final parting. At that moment I held up a finger to my lips to try to hush Michael, but couldn’t prevent him from saying aloud: “She’s such a sweetheart.” There were murmurs of appreciation in the darkness around us, responding to this innocent sentiment.
There is a sublime moment, on the encourage platform of the provocative negate — the Northern Lights glimmering in the distance — when the young girl joins in song with the poorest kid on the tell (a younger boy from a worn home on the “far side of the tracks”) . I admit to being overcome with emotion during this duet (a splendid, strong melody with poignant lyrics) – and I blurted out loud to Michael, after the first chorus: “What a unbelievable song!” The refrain includes the words “When Christmas comes to town.” [It's a song so ample that, with some future 'cover versions' by serious musicians who could do it justice --- this "Christmas Comes to Town" song could, I fill, deservedly join the limited list of upright, Christmas 'classics.']
I’d have to agree with anyone who thinks this movie is a exiguous short on space. And yet . . . once you’ve suspended disbelief — beginning with an earth-shattering, Christmas-eve arrival of a steam-puffing, passenger bellow on a small-town Michigan street, directly outside the home of the movie’s central character — once we’ve swallowed that premise, the movie disarmingly embraces the child in us, (including our fears) and our reservations vanish without our noticing.
Just as tremendous `realistic’ painters, (judge Rembrandt or Vermeer) worked wonders of light & shadow that no mere photograph could ever steal, so too this computer-animated marvel takes your breath away through an accumulation of exiguous but acute observations that could never be captured by mature cinematography. Prime examples from the opening scenes:
A shaft of light illuminates the boy’s bedroom, and he is reflected in a chrome, automobile hubcap leaning against a wall; at once we piece his belief — through the keyhole of his bedroom door – we can perceive only the backs and the dressing gowns of mother and father, as they say goodnight to the boy’s young sister, after determining the set of her plan in Santa’s existence – a thought no longer shared by the older brother, whose view is at the keyhole.
Later, on the snarl, there’s an gorgeous halt up of the boy’s face, a little blemish above the pores on his upper upright cheek; the `camera’ pans in rotation, capturing perfectly, the texture of the boy’s hair, and that of the young sad girl sitting beside him — subtleties of such perfection one wonders if the unusual, artistic accomplishment of “Polar Drawl” could ever be surpassed.
The film’s last scene, consists entirely of a close-up plan of a slight, silver bell (of the type associated with sleigh rides) with its attached ‘ribbon’ of red leather. The diminutive bell helps do the final point about `Belief’ — in things unseen, (or forgotten, and thus inaccessible to some adults) . So simple, so great, so enlightening an image. My friend Michael turned to me at that moment, with a pretty smile. And we fair shook our heads in dread.
—-
Yes, this movie must have SOME shortcomings – one or two moments that don’t quite work as intended by the creators. But accurate now, in the afterglow, I can’t remove what they were. The film was honest too satisfying an experience!
I’m a 57-year-old grandfather who happens to contain that “The Polar Notify” is the first, accurate Christmas classic in almost 60 years. Not since the fresh Kris Kringle “Miracle” movie of 1947, has any film (to my jaded search for) so transcended our secular, commercial views of the Holiday Season, with such uplifting and new reminders of the timeless and moral spirit of Christmas.

I have long been a fan of the Shadow Star series. I have all of the manga and have been reading it since I was eight years former. When the DVD box location of the anime was released this past summer, I was gay to bag it, as I had never seen the anime before. While not nearly as informative and perfectly constructed as the manga it is based off of, it has its possess merit and individuality nonetheless.

The first thing you must know about this series is that its “first impressions can be misleading” slogan is no joke. While it starts off as a lighthearted fantasy, from the second episode on all of the characters’ minds and curved motives are exposed in a positively chilling contrivance. The further along the series gets, the more violent, eerie, and gut-wrenching it becomes. Though this is a Japanese note, in which such scenes are commonplace, the envelope is really pushed to the max in the English version. The dub even includes some previously unseen events that were in the fresh manga, all of them hinting at the carnage to arrive in the finale. None of this information holds truer than for episodes 11 and 12, which include schoolyard bullies raping a girl with a test tube, and one of the same bullies getting raped and sliced in two by a menacing alien only hours later. While there is almost no nudity or serious depictions of these homely scenes, the sound effects and shots from the waist up are enough to leave an unimaginably strong impact.
The storyline, while alarming (even to most viewers who are not easily petrified), is smooth colorful and is what makes this series triumph. I can’t reflect of anything that shows a more truthful depiction about the hearts and minds of human beings, and how misguided teens would handle their troubles given the power. It is raw yet genuine, sketching out perceptions of mankind that are horrifying, repugnant, but, above all, fair. But there’s more to this anime than pure panic as it follows the adventures of young Shiina Tamai and her trot into the war between two cliques of psychic adolescent “dragon” bearers, providing quite a few lighthearted and whimsical moments to cover and balance the grim.

The scream acting is gracious in this series, and though the English dub isn’t nearly as spot-on the unique Japanese cast with voices that are unfitting and annoying, as far as production quality goes it’s a high point. The animation, while in the same natty and gangly style as the manga, has a coarse framerate and can slay up looking quite awkward. Music is excellent, but the biggest disappointment is simply how great was left out. Tons of key set points and scenes from the new manga were slash, and the entire series is only 13 episodes long–half of the manga’s sage. The ending was done as well as it could be, but there are composed many questions that need answering. So powerful clutter and next to no tidying up.
But despite these flaws, this DVD box dwelling is worth picking up for anime fans nonetheless, despite a seemingly dubious notice of $50, and providing they have the guts to handle the latter episodes. With such a mammoth manga, the anime is lag to be broad too, and it certainly is despite bad animation and other gripes fans may have. It is fresh, philosophical, and rouses emotions you could never deem of experiencing during a cartoon.
Dont be fooled by the glad slight intro that is presented and the first bit of episode 1, this anime is extremely deep for what it looks like and many times creepy and violent. It gives a sense of there being another season coming, but if not they say there is a manga of this as well. In all I was impressed with it and wish to perceive more of it, cuz it left me on such a crital point it seemed.

Schoolhouse Rock is an unique American cultural phenomenon. Nearly every person who grew up after the unhurried Sixties is familiar with the series. How ubiquitous is it? I would predict that if you started humming “Conjunction Junction,” “I’m Fair a Bill,” or “Three Is a Magic Number” in a room of a dozen people, three-quarters would know the reference and at least a couple would probably join in humming or singing the words.

This is unimpeachable stuff. To say that this 2-disc status is definitive is to do injustice to the word “definitive.” EVERYTHING you would ever want to know about Schoolhouse Rock is here. All forty-six cartoons ever done for the series are included, even the “Scooter Computer and Mr. Chips” series that looked at computers. The electoral college toon that was done later is portion of this collection, too.
The extras on the second disc are outstanding. In addition to Scooter Computer and the rarely seen “The Weather Exhibit,” you find a slack the scenes peruse at the electoral college song, a Top 20 countdown of the best in the series, a puzzle game that features the songs, four music videos of the songs arranged by contemporary pop/rock groups, a feature on the Emmy Awards won by the series, commentary by the creators, and more.

The navigation compose of the DVD is reliable. Only want to scrutinize the “Multiplication Rock” or “America Rock” toons? You can take the specific series you want, play all within a series, or steal each specific toon from a series. You can also decide to play all forty-six toons or fair the ones chosen by fans as the top ones. There’s a built-in coast feature as well. Every DVD should be this easy to navigate and utilize.
Even the booklet that comes with this edition is well-behaved. The lyrics for the top ten toons are included as is the history of Schoolhouse Rock. A chapter breakdown is included at the demolish of the booklet.
Schoolhouse Rock is virtually impervious to review due to its unbiquitous nature within a whole generation or two of Americans. The cleverness of the animation enlivens the topic discussed, not to mention holding the attention of young children. The songs are exceptionally catchy; I’m smooth amazed at how they managed to do such a substantial job marrying the Preamble of the Constitution with a hummable melody. Definitely a reflection of the musical styles of the day, songs like “Verb: That’s What’s Happening” (done in the style of the soundtrack of “Shaft”) or “The Preamble” (70s Folk/Rock) choose the era perfectly. It makes those of us who grew up in those days misty-eyed for a return of that AM radio sound to today’s music.
If you have kids (or are objective nostalgic at heart), this DVD is critical. I’m using it as homeschool material for our kids. When my son sings the songs, it’s huge to know another generation will devour the merits of Schoolhouse Rock. No expect, this 30th anniversary edition of Schoolhouse Rock is truly pleasurable of five stars.
After hearing my preschooler memorize and recite pointless nursery rhymes, I decided to do her brain to better employ. Enter “Schoolhouse Rock.” Now, instead of hearing about four-and-twenty blackbirds baked in a pie, I’m hearing “12×8 is the same as 10×8 plus 2×8… 80 plus 16 is 96.” Yes, really. Her grandmother was equally impressed when asked “What’s a conjunction? “

Schoolhouse Rock presents Multiplication, Grammar, American History, and Science and Computers in all it’s emmy-winning glory. The music — rock, jazz, bluegrass and country — are masterfully produced and yes, danceable. The cartoons are hip, laughable, well-crafted and encourage the curriculum well. It’s education with attitude.
Here’s the best part: it is fun! Give your children the remote and let them show their favorites over and over again. Before you know it, they’ll have a brain packed burly of trustworthy stuff. I can’t voice you how many grammar quizzes I passed by remembering the lyrics “Lolly Lolly Lolly collect your adverbs here,” “then I unpacked my adjectives,” and “a noun is a person space or thing.” Many of my friends hummed the tune of “the preamble” to the constitution during history exams.
There is only one drawback — some of the songs spend ghastly English like “ain’t.” There is a jukebox feature on each component which allows you to catch which tracks to play, so you can omit those if you like.

They say “don’t think a book by it’s camouflage.” Or in this case, a DVD. To anyone who has watched a lot of shojo (girls’) anime, the first opinion that comes to mind is “Hm, this looks a lot like Fushigi Yuugi, so it must be similar.” In fact, that was section of the reason why I picked it up. I understanding I would give it a chance since I gave Fushigi Yuugi a chance once. Well, if you assume this is honest a Fushigi Yuugi clone, you’d be execrable. Beyond the setting of a fictional Former China-like world, that’s where the similarities extinguish.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Story of Saiunkoku, Vol. 1! Click Here
Saiunkoku focuses on Shuurei, a young woman from a well-to-do family who has fallen on hard times. She has a passion for learning and hard work (and of course getting money from said work–she hates wasteful spending) . As luck (or scheming people) would have it, she is given a site at the imperial palace, and from there she meets a very bewitching cast of characters, including the emperor who doesn’t really want to rule. She strives to better herself, the emperor, and the rest of Saiunkoku, hoping for a brighter future for everyone.
The series is moderate on family plots and political matters (this is based off of Old China after all), but it doesn’t lose view of the dependable joy of the show–the characters. There are a lot of them to remove in from unprejudiced the first four or five episodes, but 98% of them pause for the entire series, so salvage outmoded to them, like them, cheer when they build an appearance, throw popcorn and boo at the veil when they earn an appearance, etc. Anyone who likes shojo anime will bask in the rare COMPETENT female main character who doesn’t tumble for every hot guy that she sees (which would be a spot in this show–just glance at the opening animation) . The worship legend vein is natural, cute, and almost pathetic at times, and it doesn’t seem forced unprejudiced for the sake of two people getting together in the extinguish. Also, there is a fantastic lack of the archaic shojo fare of bubbles and sparkles. But I guess the flowers perform up for it…

So don’t let the copious amount of flowers fool you. The Record of Saiunkoku is a unbelievable addition to any shojo anime lover’s collection. And once you gather done with the 39 episode series, don’t feel sad–there’s a second season that will hopefully be coming out soon.
I really cannot top the previous reviewer’s review, he/she nailed it. But I honest wanted to add my two cents.
This is an extremely underrated demonstrate! I received volumes 1-3 for Christmas and was thrilled because I had been told it was like Fushigi Yuugi. But honest like the previous reviewer says, all that Fushigi Yuugi and Saiunkoku have in current is the setting of Musty China, (and perhaps some very fine boys) .
In all the pictures I had seen of Shuurei (our leading female), she always looked contented and almost passive, so when I popped in my DVD I was expecting a sweet, almost timorous girl. Harmful! Sweet, yes, but passive or stunned? No! This is lead female character that girls can stare up to. She is strong, colorful and gets things done.
One DVD is certainly not enough for this series, I completely recommend buying the first three for a test drive. You won’t regret it.
The ONLY predicament I had with this anime was that I was not customary to Chinese names and they sounded similar to me, so I had disaster sparkling who was who at first, but I eventually got it down.

I’ve always loved Dragonball, i was very inflamed when this came out, and when i bought it I was very confused and yet jubilant with what I saw, let me define. I hope you have seen Dragonball the series before getting this dvd.
The Record itself has been changed. Goku meets people in a different order in a different residence and such. For example, you may remember Goku meets Olong in a village, while in this dvd he finds him in the desert. As the movie goes on more and more stuff changes, soon your no longer looking at Dragonball, but at a whole unusual record altogether. this was both sunless (being this is a DRAGONBALL remake, but also colossal that a unique memoir was made)
The art was updated, looks more Dragonball GT’ish, then the older looking Dragonball art. This of course was mountainous, and very nice looking.

the visuals were somewhat awful. At some times there were scratches in the film (minor, but you’ll ogle them) . I was hopeing they could fix this, but they didn’t.
The dvd itself is ok. The menu is listless but nice, the extra’s unfortunatly are honest Trailers and Character Bios.

All together I rate the dvd 8/10. I suggest picking this up if you like Dragonball. I do NOT suggest getting this if your original or have never seen dragonball, because this really chages the anecdote ALOT. Be Pleased!
To be unbiased, I’m not exactly definite what to rate this film. There were some really honorable parts and some really bizarre parts. I direct I’ll fair initiate from the beginning.
As far as I know, this film was made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the anime (it started in 1986, and this film was made in 1996) . Basically (in a arrangement) it sort of re-tells how Goku met Bulma and re-tells the adventures which occured in the anime.
Strangely enough, chronologically, the stuff that happens in the film is completely different than the anime/manga. That’s what’s really curious about it, really. I guess I really didn’t like how they re-told the Dragon Ball record. Anybody modern to the series who sees this will be utterly confused. Those with more experience with the note and those who have seen the entire Dragon Ball series may mediate differently, however.
I’ll have to say that I like the “updated” Toriyama designs. Instead of looking like the fresh designs, they’ve been somewhat redrawn to glimpse more like they did in Dragon Ball Z. I understanding that was icy. I also really liked the animation sequences. The intense battle scenes were frosty.
I didn’t like how anti-climactic the ending was, either. I’m not going to say exactly what happened, but factual when I notion the film was reaching a climax, it unbiased ends, which peeves me a itsy-bitsy. Why? I spent a lot of money on this item, and now I’m not so positive if I want to sustain it.
Personally, if you have no conception whether you want this movie, you should rent it first. Perhaps I’ll recognize it a few more times before I accomplish my final decision whether I want to maintain it or not, but to me, this “re-telling” of Dragon Ball is unprejudiced unique and confusing to me.

I’m elegant positive that if you’re reading this review, then you are a Street Fighter fan. I know there’s a chance that you’re objective an anime fan in general, but chances are if you’re after something this specific, then you’re a fan of the game series. Well, I am too. I admire SF to death, and I fancy this movie too.
First of all, I cannot understand why anyone would remove the SFII Enthralling Movie over this one. About the only redeeming factor of that movie was the fight scenes – but if you’re anything like me, then the space is quite critical also; I can’t come by enraged or even really care if the people on the shroud are honest fighting for no evident reason. Enter SF Alpha.

Plot – First and foremost, the situation. Where everyone who has written previous reviews gets off saying that the dwelling sucks is lost on me. To sum it up: Ryu and Ken accept word that their master has been murdered. They return to Japan and are surprised to meet a young boy who inists that he is Ryu’s younger brother! Moreover, Ryu has been feeling a dim, cross power within him, one that he isn’t definite he can overcome. From there, they stare a menace has been preying on street fighters the world over, capturing them and sapping all of their energies, under the disguise of some kind of tournament. Many characters are met along the contrivance, and all are portrayed exactly like you would expect; no one says or does anything out-of-character, but that by no means makes the experience a shallow one. Rather, it makes it an delightful one. Yes, Akuma makes an apperance – but no, he and Ryu do not fight. This did not disapoint me as noteworthy as I view it might, mostly because Akuma tells Ryu that he must advance succor and challenge him when he is ready.
Animation – Wonderful. Fluidly done and totally appropriate. I have no exact gripes about it, aside from wanting the whole time for Ryu to assign on a red headband, but that’s so minor it’s not even a complaint. The scenes where Ryu briefly succumbs to the murky energy are particularly well done, as are most of the fight scenes. Each fight scene is done in a stylish, over-the-top scheme, but not so grand that you consider it’s too untrue to be keen. The character designs are ample – each character looks his or her best, with the overall style clearly influenced by the designs of the video game namesake.

Voice acting – Also very well-done. I was so disturbed that the young boy who claims to be Ryu’s runt brother would have an annoying, nasaly, little-kid drawl, but thankfully I had no reason to alarm. He is voiced by an accomplished anime whisper actor – I consider it was the same person who voiced Jim from “Outlaw Star”. Ryu had a suitably deep, thoughtful relate. Ken was perfect – he could go from strange and funny to serious without sounding like a totally different person. Sakura was a fine purchase, as were Chun-Li and even Akuma. Akuma’s lines were terse and steady, which is honorable since he would not likely blather on, and the actor had a sunless, intense, punching sound to his lines.
Music – Unremarkable. All the tunes fit the situations, but they won’t gain stuck in your head.
Overall – Fun, provocative, and suprisingly deep. This won’t disappoint anyone who liked the alpha games, nor should it disappoint anyone who likes Street Fighter in general. This one was a champ.
“Street Fighter Alpha: the movie” is a no have free for all filled with heavenly animation, fabulous fight scenes and decent music. Where the film falls short is in a sometimes overpredictable yarn. The snarl cast does a fine job. Yet I was dissapointed that Ryu never fought Akuma in this film. Compared to “Street Fighter II: THE MOVIE” this film is quite a few steps down. Yet for those of us whom have loved the game and the anime since it arrived this is a fun film that is a worth watching. Price only diehard Street Fighter fans should prefer the DVD. Anyone else woulf\d be better renting this movie. This film possess no rating yet I would rate it PG-13 for non-stop martial arts violence, and some gore.

The Most Awesome DVD Ever Created. Trash The Old Disk!![]()
This new “Ultimate Edition DVD” of Terminator 2 Judgement Day, one of the biggest box office smashes of all time, is truly The Ultimate Edition. Unless you get this outside of the US (which I did) you have two disks. One disk is the movie (THREE versions of the movie, in fact), and the next disk is all the special features. And it takes DAYS getting through every feature. I mean, three documentary, 8 trailers and TV spots, an entire script, interviews that you can access separately, and 52 chapters of behind the scenes footage, from makeup to visual effects, from editing to restoring deleted scenes. There are so many special features, this is what DVD was made for! You can also look at the original drawings of certain scenes, awesome!!!!
However, I find the real highlight of this disk (or disks) to be the movie itself, I mean WOW!!! You get three, I repeat, three, versions of the movie. One is the original theatrical version, featuring no cut out scenes (the worst), the special edition, featuring 16 minutes of additional footage (second best) and the Extended Special Edition that you need a code for (the best) which features 18 minutes of additional footage, as well as an alternate ending. Here, now, I will give you a step-by-step description of how to get this extended special edition. I’m sure most of you people reading this know how to already, but this is for those who didn’t know this version existed, or don’t know how to get it. What you do is, you go to the features menu. It’ll say “Theatrical Version” and “Special Edition”. Click on “Special Edition”. Then, you highlight “Play Special Edition” and type in (you may have to type ENTER in-between each number) EIGHT TWO NINE NINE SEVEN (8 2 9 9 7) and then, the “Go To Theatrical Version” option changes to “Play Extended Special Edition”. This is the definitive version of the movie. I believe that every single little, tiny scene that they cut out is in this version. Well, thats the code, now back to my review.
The picture and audio on this disk are SO awesome, you won’t believe it. Crystal clear picture, and sound so loud that it’s like you’re in a movie theatre. The additional, restored scenes are remastered as well, and slip perfectly into the movie. If you haven’t even seen the film, you won’t even notice these scenes put into it. Usually, on additional scenes, the picture is dirty and shakes. Not in these added scenes. And, to make it even better, the scenes are presented in 2:35:1 widescreen anamorphic format. Yes!! Just the first disk makes this DVD the ultimate edition!! Also, there’s an audio commentary by 26 members of the cast and crew, however, this commentary is just interviews put together to sound like a commentary. However, there’s a noticable glitch in the theatrical version, due to the commentary. Well, if you watch this commentary on one of the special editions, you’ll notice it’s the same commentary as the theatrical version, but they talk about deleted scenes as well. You may, also, notice that they continue talking about the deleted “Dream Sequence” at the hospital, when it goes into the next scene. So, now, when you watch the theatrical version, you’ll notice that the beggining scene with Sarrah Connor watching the tape from six months ago, the beggining of the scene is cut off!!! Oops! Well, that’s forgivible. Now, the second disk (or the second side of the disk) has lots of special features. The three documentarys include “The Making Of Terminator 2 Judgement Day”, “T2 More Than Meets The Eye”, where they talk about deleted sequences and the reason they were cut. The last is “The Making Of Terminator 2 3-D Breaking The Screen Barrier”, about the making of that 3-D terminator ride. I loved that ride (yes, I went on it) and this documentary is really interesting. The rest of the features, well, I’m not sure I kinow all of them. Maybe YOU should discover all the features on this disk. If you own the previous DVD release of T2 (which had no extras), then trash it and get this “Ultimate Edition”. You WON’T be dissipointed.
If you found my review helpful, please be sure and vote for me! Thank You Very Much!
Features galore!![]()
This is the most feature packed DVD I own!
Terminator 2 THE ULTIMATE EDITION DVD actually has 3 different versions of the movie; the original theatrical release lasting 136 minutes, the special edition version lasting 153 minutes and an extended special edition clocking in at 155 minutes and 43 seconds which is accessed by an “Easter Egg” discussed below.
You can access the extended special edition version by selecting special edition from the menu and then entering 82297 on your remote’s numeric keypad. You may have to press “enter” after each number on certain DVD players. An easier method is to just select title number 3 from your remote.
The picture quality and sound quality are top-notch on this DVD and it is my top choice for showing off my system to friends and family! It includes Dolby Digital 5.1 EX, DTS 5.1 ES and Dolby Digital 2.0 mixes. The EX and ES designations refer to a new standard that includes a sixth channel of sound that is designed to emanate from a rear center speaker. I have a 5.1 setup, so I couldn’t test this feature, but it’s nice to know it’s there.
This release comes in two formats; either a DVD-18 disc or two DVD-9 Discs. The DVD-18 is a double-sided, double layer disc and contains the entire 6 hours of material on one disc that needs to be flipped and the DVD-9 is a single-sided, double-layer disc which has the material on two discs. Don’t worry, the content on both versions is the same. The two disc version might be preferable for DVD changer users. Due to manufacturing limitations with the newer DVD-18 format, the DVD-9′s were created to better meet demand.
One really cool thing about this title is that the trailers for Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS play according to which audio setting is selected. These are nice to demo your system with! Also, the THX trailer at the beginning was customized for T2 as a bonus.
If you love this movie, get this version now! It has enough bonus materials to warrant a purchase even if you already own the previous release on DVD. This is an awesome special edition that betters the Laser Disc special edition at a quarter of the list price! There are English and Japanese trailers, 700 storyboards, a 26 person audio commentary, making of T2 and T2 3D featurettes and DVD-ROM material as well.
Last, but not least, you get “THX Optimode,” a tool to properly adjust your home theater audio and video settings for optimum enjoyment. I recommend Video Essentials or Avia Guide to Home Theater DVDs for critical system adjustment, but this is a great tool for free! To access “THX Optimode,” select “Sensory Control,” click your remote’s left button and click on the highlighted THX on the endoskeleton’s skull.
This is a great DVD with my highest recommendation!
Terminator 2: The ULTIMATE DVD EXPERIENCE!![]()
As I opened my Amazon.com box revealing a shiny outer metal casing for this DVD, I knew I was in for something special. This “Ultimate Edition” impressed me even before opening the plastic wrapping! Soon, I slid off the metal T2 casing revealing a beautiful 2 disc DVD package. The graphics on the outer casing and on the discs themselves are quite creative. The booklet is also impressive….30 pages of photos and interesting facts concerning James Cameron, his crew and the film. It also has a detailed list of the chapters and a list with information on the restored footage. OK…so far I have a huge smile on my face, and I haven’t even popped the DVD into my player yet. By the way, if you plan to keep the booklet inside the DVD case, make sure you close it tightly! This booklet is so thick, you’ll have problems keeping the package closed! Anyway, I finally pop in Disc 1. The animated graphics are terrific! Disc 1 contains the theatrical release of the film, the special edition with restored footage, and the magic “easter egg” ending. It also gives you an assortment of audio options including Dolby Digital 5.1 EX, DTS 5.1 and Dolby Surround 2.0. You also have the choice of audio commentary by 26 cast and crew members! What I thought was really great about the commentaries was that the name of the person talking is shown on the screen with their credit, so you always know who is talking without getting confused. That was a pleasant surprise. You also have the choice of English subtitles and “Mission Profiles”, which are biographies of many cast and crew members. You can also jump to any scene you want with an impressive “timeline” graphic. Being THX certified, this disc also contains a THX set-up. OK…so lets talk about the DVD. I decided to watch the “Special Edition”. After a very impressive new THX logo, I sat back and watched the film. Instantly, the sound was top notch. If you have a subwoofer, you may have to make sure that anything hanging on your walls are securely fastened. The remastering job on this film is amazing. The stereo separation, the ambience, vocals and music all sound incredible. This film really set a new standard for sound design when it was first released, and this DVD compliments the sound department to the fullest. You are thrown into a surround sound environment that is addicting and thrilling. Even those with simple 2 speaker set-ups will be happy, but those with advanced surround systems will have some explaining to tell the neighbors. This DVD is a great test for your system. A true audiophonic, stereophonic thrill. OK…enough about the sound…what about the picture? Well, the picture is also superb, with incredible detail and beautiful deep blacks. Color saturation is beautiful with deep blues throughout the film. The transfer is incredibly clean. Can you believe that I can STILL see the wires suspending Arnolds motorcycle as he jumps into the canal!!?? (Chapter 21, I believe.) Anyway, the widescreen presentation of T2 is definitely the “ultimate DVD experience.” **By the way, SLOWLY type in 8-2-9-9-7 in the main menu AFTER you choose “Special Edition”. This accesses the secret “Extended Special Ediion.” (different DVD players may require you to press ‘enter’ after each number, while others may not.)** OK…let’s talk about disc 2 which contains all the supplemental material. The opening graphic animation is really great. This animation brings you to the main menu. The main menu is subdivided into 3 sections….”Information Programs” which has 3 featurettes, “Making of T2″, “T2, More then meets the eye”, and “The making of T2 3D”. The second section, “Visual Campaigns”, has a “Teaser Trailer”, two “Theatrical Trailers”, and a “T2 Special Edition Trailer”. The thrid section, The “Data Hub”, has all other supplemental material. This includes 574 still frames of the final shooting script, original storyboard sequences, a bunch of video sequences including videos of James Cameron, the co-writer, the effects designer, stunt coordinator, interviews with cast and other crew members and a BUNCH of other stuff that will keep you watching until T3 is released! The “Data Hub” also contains an impressive graphical behind the scenes story of T2, or you can choose a video featurette with behind the scenes footage….both very impressive. For you PC people, you can also watch the film while reading the script and looking at the storyboards. You can also link to online T2 websites. I won’t ruin all the surprises of this disc, but I recommend you to experiment with this disc…there are a few other surprises that I won’t go into detail about. In conclusion, I want to applaud everyone involved in the making of this DVD, especially the Creative Supervisor Van Ling. It is simply one of the BEST DVD’s available and gives everyone a reason to own a DVD player. Much time was spent in producing this package, and it is worth every penny. Full of surprises, top notch audio and video quality with THX certification, and an attractive outer case too! This is what all future “ultimate editions” should be compared to, because “Terminator 2-The Ultimate DVD Edition” is why DVD was created. I recommend this DVD to EVERYONE….especially to those who are DVD fanatics, fans of the Terminator films and/or James Cameron, or you simply want to ‘show off’ your home entertainment system. Buy this DVD package and enjoy!
