Much Better Than I Heard
I had heard a lot of bad things and bad reviews about this movie. I was suprised when I watched it that it was as good as it was. I thought Timothy Olyphant did a good job and that the girl who played his love interest was also good and HOT. The guy that plays T-Bag on the TV show Prison Break was also good. I have never played this game but I thought the story was pretty solid. It kind of reminded me of The Bourne Identity as he is a trained super assassin from a place that churns them out and he has flash backs of good and bad things.

Anyway, the action rocked and it was exciting and entertaining beginning to end. It was pretty good and fun to watch.

This was a hit with me
I didn’t expect to be impressed with this movie because in my mind it was simply another flick made from a video game but man, I was blown away! In fact it was so enjoyable that ten minutes after finishing it I wanted to see it again, and that rarely happens. Never mind the few geographical errors, this movie is all action and there is no waste of precious minutes on mindless love scenes – the one actually has one cut short by the main hero and it was humorous, how he was all business, him being this monk killer for hire who lives a chaste life. In a way it was like a James Bond character who actually didn’t try to bed all the babes, impressive. And Timothy Olyphant was flawless, even thought I prefer men with longer hair he looked cool and totally acted the part, mysterious, brooding but with a heart in there somewhere.

Bald and serious, dressed in an expensive suit, red silk tie and an impeccably crisp white shirt the Hitman is a force to be reckoned with. He’s not too emotional but rather straightforward with a little bit of a charm threw in as he works his meticulously planned hits until one day everything changes. In a very short time the predator turns into juicy prey and he must use all of his killer skills to catch the bad guys. Trouble is finding out who the bad guys are, I liked watching this movie without knowing anything about it, but I will just say it involved the Russian secret police and the Interpol chasing the Hitman while someone from the inside of his secret agency was trying to put him in the harm’s way. The twists and turns, betrayals laced with action and ferocious weaponry all in one were a feast for the mind and eyes.

This movie was like a day at the beach, the bullets spraying the sky like the morning surf hitting the warm sand. Action galore and clever fights using all sorts of guns and ammo , hand combat and even a sword scene all mashed beautifully, it is all art, a ballet almost , full of grace with deadly intentions, I loved it and can’t say enough good things about it.

This Was Amazing
Yet another game to movie adaptation, but this one has a major difference. It’s actually pretty damn cool.

Timothy Olyphant fits perfectly into the role of Agent 47, an orphan who is taken in and trained by an agency that trains children to be the most stealthy and deadly hitmen in the world. Agent 47 is the best of the best of all the Hitmen raised and trained by “The Organization.” He is called in to perform on a hit on the Russian President Mikhail Belicoff, however the hit is a setup and 47 finds himself on the run from Interpol & The Russian Secret Police.
While on the run, 47 endeavours to get revenge and find the truth about who set him up and why. This unravels a tangled web of lies and deceipt as one by one he kills those who have done him wrong, including those who are also members of “The Organisation.”
During his streak he comes across an unlikely companion in Nika Boronina who we come to see gives 47 emotions and feelings that he’s never encountered before.

This is a really good movie and something that at times keeps so close to the game that you come to think this is a game in itself. Timothy Olyphant plays 47 incredibly and although 47 is conventionally an emotionless character but within the movie we are given emotion that is being held back. That may be a bit of an oxymoron but the way in which Olyphant portrays it is amazing as it’s a character that has all this emotion built up inside but is trying to hold it back.
The action, dialogue and cinematography of this film I found to be incredibly intelligent. It has moments in it that you can identify to the game and there’s one point in particular which the game itself is given a nod. 47 breaks through the window of a hotel room and it cuts to a vision of kids playing the video game hitman.

Overall this was a very, very good film which I have to admit I didn’t really have high hopes for in the beginning. I am glad to say my preconceptions were changed within the first 5 minutes into the movie and I am sure to watch it again.

You should check it out whether you’re a fan of the game or not, it’s still a pretty special piece.

Like a previous reviewer mentioned, when Sci-Fi Channel announced that they were producing a recent BSG expose, I was causiously optimistic. I was hoping that it would revive an musty classic. To a lot of people’s surprise…it did. In fact, the fresh Battlestar Galactica has been called the “Best Demonstrate on TV” by a lot of media organizations. First of all, that fact was unprejudiced a rumor spawned by what was said during one of the Podcasts, I possess. However, due to time constraints, Universal Studios was unable to “ready” the extended version of “Pegasus” for this release. Why so? Who knows…

However, it has been reported that the extended version will be on the 2.5 area that will complete the second season. So in essence, fans who have bought both sets will have both versions of this episode. This is similar to the new dilemma with the Stargate SG-1 Season 8 station in which the extended 60+ small version of “Threads” was supposed to be included, but ultimately wasn’t. This was remedied by a mail-in offer done by CheckMyRebate.com.

Also, I mention that a rotund season situation, may or may not be offered eventually after the entire season is done airing. After acquiring the 2.0 location, I noticed that there is a half of a image on the spine. The image being one half of the Galactica Seal and President Roslin. I engage the 2.5 space will have the other half of the Galactica Seal and presumably a pic of Commander/Admiral Adama. So with that, I’m beginning to acquire that a complete Season 2 place may not in the future. Although I may be proven scandalous…but we’ll gawk.

In 2004, the Student Body Council at Utah Valley Status College (UVSC) decided to invite Michael Moore to their campus to scream. It was, after all, an election year, and in opinion of the recently released film “Fahrenheit 9/11″ Moore seemed to be an appropriate and timely choice. Moore’s $40,000 speaker’s fee would be easily offset by price sales. Simple, upright? … Well, judge again. “The Divided Position” is a microcosm for politics in America–and while it’s not quite this unsightly in most towns, America is politically–a divided nation. In Orem, Utah with the imminent visit from Moore, the good divide of politics became uncouth. First Amendment rights were severely threatened when self-appointed Dodge City Marshals of Morality tried to block Moore’s visit unprejudiced because they didn’t like what he had to say. The documentary captures the emotionally charged atmosphere on campus as sides clash. Those who fight for Moore’s presence study it as a battle for First Amendment rights–while those who are opposed to Moore argue that his presence brings “hatred and filth.” As emotions are unleashed and tempers flare, gallant professors try to relate while the crowd heckles and boos, and radio host Sean Hannity humiliates a young man who had the courage to admit he was a liberal–well so considerable for Free Speech. And throughout this entire, gross mess Student Body President Jim Bassi and Vice President Joe Vogel (both ancient Mormon missionaries) valiantly attempt to bear their equilibrium in the volatile area on campus.

The Divided Area brings us to 2004 where two members of the student government at the Utah Valley Area College decided to invite Michael Moore to order on campus before the November presidential election. The fees for Moore’s visit would be $40,000 for which advanced notice sales have already insured a profit. When the invitation was made, the uproar began.

Students opposed to the political views of the controversial filmmaker started drawing petitions to have the invitation rescinded. They never claimed that it was about Moore’s politics, but how the money was spent. They have the relieve of Kay Anderson, a local businessman in the Oram, Utah community. Anderson seems to delight being in the spotlight even as students challenge his opposition, and fetch him repeatedly contradicting himself. (A trailer to this shows the students lampooning him mercilessly, which draws chuckles from the man who gives every appearance of being a self-righteous bigot and hypocritical throwback to the 1950′s) . Students counter Anderson’s argument by asking why it is so principal keeping someone out, which is the same reason the LDS sought refuge by immigrating to Utah.

Conservative students invite ultraconservative Sean Hannity to squawk at the school, days ahead of Moore. He agrees to do it free, objective so long as they pay his expenses and the cost of flying by private jet. Cost: $50,000.

Watching Hannity was perhaps the most difficult viewing of this yarn. His patronization of the crowd and condescension was nauseating. He humiliated a liberal in the audience, and on stage while carefully keeping the microphone from him. He summoned other liberals by calling them, as he would call for a house pet. Moore follows several days later, also to a sell-out crowd, extolling the courage of the student body president, Jim Bassi and Vice President Joe Vogel, who catch themselves in a lawsuit filed for spite by fellow Mormon, Kay Anderson.

This was surprisingly bright and noteworthy. It was monstrous, and disgusting to scrutinize Kay Anderson completely contradict his Christian principles and American ideals, saying the community could ignore the first amendment rights of other Americans by keeping them from speaking in his town or local college. Luminous Hannity’s routine, I have gained a original level of contempt for this conceited prima donna. Yet, it was refreshing to scrutinize college students remain ever mindful of their civic obligation to protect the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens.

This was a microcosm of division that has permeated across our land, hence the title, “This Divided Station.” Another lesson to be learned from this is that civil rights can always be taken away or challenged by rationalization by anyone in the majority, liberal or conservative, and that tyranny can appear in the invent of self-righteousness, misdirection, and under the camouflage of patriotism.

Stockwell tries to whine the president and his staff that he’s become a murderous lycanthrope, but they’d rather point the finger at those darned “hippies” or design it a racial thing. After all, how could a werewolf chronicle possibly befriend them politically? WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON is a political satire disguised as a monster movie. It has it’s well-behaved moments as well as those moments that develop you want to send Dean Stockwell on a Loyal quantum leap. Probably best viewed if you’re an insomniac and it’s 3am…

America is fighting an unpopular war; the President is trying to shift the balance of the Supreme Court with his judicial nominee; the front line of political debate is an out-of-control press, and there’s a wild man running around who looks rather disturbingly like Howard Dean. No, I’m not talking about the residence of affairs in 2005; I’m talking about Werewolf of Washington, an undeniably original 1973 film that combines apprehension, comedy, and political parody in ways I would never have imagined on my enjoy. I’m going to go ahead and slap a “you’ve got to witness it to acquire it” sticker on this one. This is clearly a very exclusive product of its times – it is, in a word, kooky.

Dean Stockwell plays Jack Whittier, a hotshot young reporter with a discontinuance connection to the White House (in the create of the First Daughter) ; his conception of ending the relationship fervent getting a transfer to Hungary, of all places, and making it peer like his newspaper sent him there as some kind of punishment. The President (Biff McGuire) thinks he was banished for his good articles on the White House, so he snatches Jack up as his current press agent. Before Jack can earn out of Budapest, however, he goes and gets himself bitten by a werewolf. After his return to Washington, he starts seeing pentagrams on consume people’s hands and experiencing blackouts during the times those people are killed. (The writers work in not one but two pentagram-Pentagon confusion jokes, which gives you a gorgeous first-rate conception of the comedic effectiveness of this whole film.) Eventually, Jack figures out that he has indeed been cursed, but no one really believes his claims that he is a werewolf – certainly not the President, who becomes thicker and thicker in the head as the legend progresses. The transformations are bright – it’s impartial your standard time-lapse photography, but the early phase has Jack scrunching his face all over the location, and I issue he looks exactly like Howard Dean when he pushes his jaw out and gets that “Yeeeoooooow” ogle in his eyes. Once the transformation is complete, though, Jack objective looks like an idiot – this may be the stupidest-looking werewolf in the history of cinema.

Once the whole werewolf setup is complete, the movie gets down to some serious (and seriously unpleasant) political parody work. You’ve got hippies and other subversives for the Attorney General and FBI to withhold their view on, you’ve got the Watergate Hotel, you’ve got the President “cleverly” sidestepping questions he doesn’t want to reply, and you’ve even got a shrimp Agnew humor thrown in for friendly measure. The President’s a dunderhead who gets stranger as his political benefit erodes, but the Attorney General is the sincere part of work on explain here. He’s too just for his occupy top-notch, according to the President, and he’s a master at speaking without thinking (unprejudiced peek how posthaste he jumps from werewolf to Dark Panther when it comes to a cancel suspect) . Then there’s the war room meeting – I can’t even launch to relate that scene. Toss in a “you won’t have Jack Whittier to kick around anymore” line at the destroy, wrap it all up, and you’ve got the most recent werewolf film I’ve ever seen.

The political satire bit (which you’ve really got to leer for yourself to luxuriate in – or not) is the only thing that makes this hairy dog of a movie remotely intelligent. As dismay, it’s a total bomb. It basically strikes out when it comes to the comedy thing, too – but at least it’s a irregular, bewitching kind of bomb in that regard.

“The American President” is a terrific movie about politics, romance, sex, and loyal life. Michael Douglas leads a terrific cast of characters that I fancy to hear talk to each other over and over again. I’ve seen this movie so many times, I nearly have it memorized. President Andy Sheppard (Douglas) is having problems pushing his crime bill through Congress, but those problems intensify when he finds himself falling for the blooming environmental lobbyist Sydney Ellen Wade (Annette Bening) . The press is all over them from every angle, and Sheppard’s 63% approval rating is dropping like a rock. The romance in this account is sweet, but it takes second residence to the witty dialogue written by “Sports Night” creator Aaron Sorkin, which makes every character equally luscious. Martin Sheen should have won an Oscar for his performance as White House Chief of Staff A.J. Mackinerny, and Michael J. Fox is terrific as Louis Rothchild, who delivers a mountainous speech in the film. The two leads, Douglas and Bening, are sizable together, and for every moment they are on the mask together, we forget that we’re watching a movie. Recall Reiner does a terrific directing job, and turns out a movie that surpasses “When Harry Met Sally.”

Everyone knows this is a terrific movie! Those of us who are also DVD fans have waited a couple of years for this to appear on DVD. What a let down!! Lift, where are you man!!!

This a terrible transfer with lots of artifacts and someone trying too hard to sharpen the image. To invent matters worse this disc has very cramped extras. Ok, it’s out so let’s fade to the “collector’s edition” so Warner can accept a few more bucks and we can derive a disc more grand of this ample movie!!
