Gerson Therapy, or Chemotherapy: Guess which one has less than 3% success?star50 tpng The Beautiful Truth Discount.
It has been said that more people live off cancer than die from it. The Beautiful Truth is a movie that can put a stop to this travesty. Here is a very practical guide to the intensive nutritional treatment of cancer and other life-threatening diseases that many would consider to have been impossible to obtain. But thanks to the work of Max Gerson, M.D., and his daughter, Charlotte Gerson, this knowledge is readily available.

Max Gerson cured cancer. He did so with a strict fat-free, salt-free, low-protein, essentially vegetarian dietary regimen, based on great quantities of fresh vegetable juice, supplements, and systemic detoxification. Ms. Gerson explains:

“Dr. Gerson found that the underlying problems of all cancer patients are toxicity and deficiency. He had to overcome both these difficulties. He found that one of the important features of his therapy had to be the hourly administration of fresh vegetable juices. These supply ample nutrients, as well as fluids to help flush out the kidneys. When the high levels of nutrients re-enter tissues, toxins accumulated over many years are forced into the blood stream. The toxins are then filtered out by the liver. The liver is easily overburdened by the continuous release of toxins and is unable to release the load. Dr. Gerson found that he could provide help to the liver by the caffeine in coffee, absorbed from the colon via the hemorrhoidal vein, which carries the caffeine to the portal system and then to the liver. The caffeine stimulates the liver/bile ducts to open, releasing the poisons into the intestinal tract for excretion.”

Some of the blunt, uncompromising statements this movie makes are certain to get up the medical profession’s collective nose. Too bad for them, for Dr. Gerson was right. And as for Charlotte, his daughter, her entire life has been immersed in healing people, first learning while assisting her father, and later teaching his method to the world.

I personally have seen what the Gerson program can do for a terminally ill cancer patient. I have been called upon to help in a couple of high-profile but last minute cases. One patient was a well-known sports figure. He was given some months to live and was not happy about it, as he was still in his 50s. He asked what his best shot would be for inoperable, untreatable metastasized cancer. I told him: the Gerson therapy. He did it, not in its entirety, but with enthusiasm. And, he lived considerably longer that he was expected to. But what really impressed me was the dramatic improvement in his energy level. From fatigue and weakness, he went instantly to a vibrant life, commencing from the very week he started the program. He maintained a more-than-full schedule for so long that even people who knew he was sick forgot that he was sick.

Years later, people that never knew of my involvement in the matter would bring up his name, invariably recalling how active he was and how good he looked until, almost as a surprise, he died.

I saw a similar level of success with a prominent New York businessman, the owner of a chain of stores and afflicted with untreatable liver cancer. He began to do much, but by no means all, of the Gerson program, and was subsequently able to extensively travel the world with his family. He lived years longer than expected, with a high quality of life confirmed by all who saw him.

Looking only at these two patients, wanton critics of Gerson’s method might think that, without complete and unequivocal cure, there is little to crow about. Such a view is unproductive, for neither of these patients followed the Gerson program completely. It is a tough sell, even to a person with a terminal diagnosis.

Why is this?

Ignorance and arrogance make a bad combination, and “modern” medicine has been guilty of both for decades. Political physicians did not heed Dr. Gerson. In fact, they publicly condemned him. The news media, and some so-called “consumer” websites, have been their willing accomplices. The misinformation they spew to this day is fraught with fabricated frights of natural therapies, while in the same breath they spew forth the wonders of pharmaceutical drugs. When is the last time you saw a favorable mention of the Gerson program in the newspaper or on TV? Since pharmacological doctors have no sure-fire cure for cancer (an understatement if there ever was one), they might at least back a winning horse. According to peer-reviewed research, conventional chemotherapy contributes 2.3% to five year survival in Australia and a mere 2.1% in the US. (Morgan, Ward and Barton. Clinical Oncology, 2004. 16: 549-560) The Gerson approach has been shown, for over six decades, to significantly improve both quality of life and length of life in the sickest, the most hopeless, of cancer patients. Many people have been completely cured on the Gerson therapy. Not all, but many. Far, far more than with chemo.

Some years ago I watched a video tape of a Gerson patients’ “reunion.” On stage were people from all walks of life, and most were advanced in age. One after the other they spoke of the cancer they were diagnosed with three, ten, or twenty years ago. All were recovered. Dr. Gerson was the reason. You cannot watch such an event and fail to be moved.

Charlotte Gerson is 87 now (2009) and fit as a fiddle. I’ve met her many times. She glows with energy and vivaciousness and life. But what is much more important, so do the vast majority of Gerson patients. I urge you to watch this movie.

Dr. Max Gerson saved my life. PLEASE WATCH THIS MOVIE. IT could save the life of someone you know or may know in the future. The Gerson Therapy is saving people from having their testicles, eyes, prostates, removed and discarded. And after all that the patient still has a severe metabolic breakdown, and just maybe they’ll throw in a little chemical cocktail for an expensive, sickening finish. PLEASE BUY THIS MOVIE! Somebody gave a negative 1-star review here (because of dubbing, not the quality of the art) to one of the best animes you might not have heard about so I idea I would counteract the review.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Sola: Anime Legends! Click Here

This is a five-star anime, no doubt about that.

Yes there is no dubbing here, but Bandai has gotten a reveal that might not otherwise have made it to the US market at a astronomical effect, so lets not complain too grand. You like to read don’t you? Plus you rep to hear the inflection of the unusual seiyuus (japanese exclaim actresses) like the fresh director intended.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Sola: Anime Legends! Click Here

In Japan this was voted as the best anime in 2007 which is something to reflect about. I judge they know anime over there : )

Sola is not your typical robots-explosions-mecha-madness anime nor is it a fan-service romp. It is an exploration of metaphysical forces and the mystery of our emotions as they become embodied in supernatural beings. It is deliberately paced, so if you are in a bustle for some action, then this is not for you.

In a map it reminds me of Haibane Renmei, which is high praise indeed. It has that same type of pensive and inviting engage on the supernatural order of things.

SPOILERS (Collected) AHEAD…

Plotwise, Sola is about a young artistic (photographer) boy, Yorito, who meets a girl, Matsuri, who has mysterious powers and who turns out to be the “Calamity of the Night.” She is basically a being (a Yaka) who is the embodiment of human agony and wound and as such she is meant to always be alone in the universe. Yorito doesn’t prefer that and befriends her. The rest of the anime revolves around their relationship. It is complicated by the fact that there are forces out hunting for Matsuri.

So, this is an anime that is a shrimp different but of improbable quality throughout. The pacing is favorable, the art and music are stellar and the overall reveal is of the highest quality. grasp a chance and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Ok, first of all, to discount this product simply b/c of it’s lack of a English dub is absolutely ludicrous.

If you purchased this thinking it would be dubbed, then yea, I can peruse how that would suck, however, this was never advertised as such here on amazon, nor was it promoted as such in the months leading to it’s release. When you think this project was nearly axed and delayed once already, I’m contented to finally have this in my hands.

The area of anime is resplendent dire moral now. Companies that have been around for decades now have either consolidated, or completely vanished icon sad Sola: Anime Legends Movie Streaming ADV, Geneon, etc.) Allotment of the reason is the down economic dwelling in the world, but it’s also my view that the anime market is suffering due to a lack of quality anime. There haven’t been any breakout hits in the last several years, at least since 2007, IMO.

Sola is one of those rare exceptions. Would I have prefered a dub, certain. I watched this on [...] when it originally aired a few years attend, but purchasing this dvd, subtitle and all, has enhanced the experience for me, not taken away from it. The likelihood of a dub being released is minimal and to pass on this series for that sole purpose is radiant discontinuance minded.

This series is a rare astronomical that will top my personal favorites list for a very long time to reach.

You are probably not going to regain a lot of fans who would determine “All Monsters Attack” as their common Godzilla flick. The complaints against it are many: Over-use of stock footage, a bizarre plotline inspiring Godzilla and the other monsters only existing in some sort of dream realm, an overly kid-friendly arrive, problems of scale bright the humans and the monsters, etc.

Buy,Download, Or Stream All Monsters Attack! Click Here

And all of that is apt. This isn’t your standard Godzilla. This is your “after school special” Godzilla, complete with a obedient message for the youth of Japan about how to stand up to bullies and a kid-sized Minira who can verbalize English and be your monster pal. Director Honda Ishiro, a name that should be familiar to any G-fan, was involved in using his creations for more than objective entertainment, and wanted to abet kids who were being bullied, a serious social dilemma that serene affects Japan today. “All Monsters Attack” is a new offering in the Godzilla series, and that alone makes it worth seeing. And yes, it is cheesy, but its detached fun.

The yarn begins with Ichiro, a dreadful latchkey kid who suffers from bullying at school. His only run is in his imagination, where he finds himself on Monster Island, bonding with Godzilla’s son Minira, who is being bullied by the monster Gabara. Minira tries to stand up to the bully, and salubrious papa monster takes a tough adore advance, refusing to step in and assign the diminutive guy but insisting that he stand up for himself. Ichiro learns that it is famous to defend himself against bullies, so when he finds himself kidnapped by gangsters he has the confidence he needs to hold action, then dish a slight out to the kids that bully him as well.

Classic Media has establish together a expedient package for this underappreciated flick, with both the modern Japanese version as well as the dubbed US release. Aside from the language, there isn’t noteworthy contrast between the two versions so you can assume your consume. Additional extras are a biography of creator and director Honda Ishiro, which is titillating. I had no concept Honda was an Assistant Director on so many Kurosawa Akira flicks like Stray Dog and Kagemusha.

Anyone with petite kids couldn’t go ghastly with bringing home “All Monsters Attack”. It’s a gargantuan introduction to the Godzilla series and unbiased might execute some future G-fans. As for me, I guess I calm have some kid inside, because watching this was unprejudiced like a time warp encourage to Sunday mornings and Monster Theater. Favorable times indeed.

Many fans verbalize as this the worst Godzilla film made but for me the worst is Godzilla vs. Megalon. The reason is because it uses more stock footage than the other Godzilla films up to that point (which they venerable very limited) and that it was more childish and kiddish than the previous ones as well. But that was the main point! The film wasn’t to be taken seriously like the modern film but made for children so they can defend themselves from their beget bullies and have their have dreams of Godzilla and his monster pals. One thing that is a highlight for this film is that the young actor who portrays Ichiro isn’t as base as some children from the Gamera films (Gamera vs. Zigra comes to mind) . To sum it up, it’s a rather absorbing film to discover and is expedient to display your children if they have started an interest in Godzilla or kaiju films in general. It’s supposed to be mindless fun and can be enjoyed as long as you remember that it’s for children, not for adults. Oh, and the DVD is edifying too. We find the Classic Media usuals, trailer, biography, audio commentary, and the fresh Japanese version with optional subtitles. And the quality is reach perfect as well. So this is a trustworthy disc to any fan’s collection if they are involved and like this film.

The dvd of SHINOBI HEART UNDER BLADE U.S. version is almost an precise duplicate of the Region-3 Thai version. I have both the 3-disc Japanese region-2 copy and the Hong Kong Region-3 DTS-ES dvd. The japanese and Hk releases have the best transfers. If you have multi-region capability, capture the Japanese or Hong Kong versions. But whatever you do, do not miss this film.

The following review applies to the Hong Kong Region-3 release:

I fair finished watching my dvd copy of this film and felt that I have to review this marvelously tragic but hopeful film. Mind you, this SHINOBI film does not follow any of the video-game inspired Shinobi titles, rather it is based on the JAPANESE FEUDAL Memoir from which both the video game and the anime series “Basilisk” were based on.

In order for you to cherish this film, you have to have an belief of Japanese customs and their unrelenting loyalty to their emperor/leader. For them, their Emperor is like a living God-man. That is why when a original Shogunate has united feudal Japan, he fears that the wrath of the SHINOBI may upset the balance of power. SHINOBI is the elite NINJA clan, who has been trained since birth in the art of combat and warfare.

Two Ninja clans has had a truce for years that the recent Lord of the shogunate has lifted this truce and has misled them into believing that each clan will aid resolve who will ascend to the role of shogun(in the future) should they have 5 of their greatest and most skilled warriors to battle each other in a contest to the death. Gennusuke and Oboro are the lovers caught in the middle because each have ascended to the role of chieftain in their respective clans. In truth, the Shogunate rulers wish to extinguish their clans because they scare their powers/skills and that one day rise up against the Supreme Shogunate of Japan. They acquire since their goal is peace and prosperity, war mongers should be ragged because they acquire that without war, they have no purpose. Some members of the clans also contain this.

Each clan warrior has character and depth, with variable skills and abilities. One warrior is like a chameleon, one has simian-like agility, one has NEAR-immortality, a woman has poison that goes around her skin/breath, one is a blind psychic among others.

The film itself is very tragic and when Oboro makes the supreme sacrifice to build the children/families of both clans, even the shogunate had to fill that the SHINOBI can have more than one purpose in life.

The space designs were awesome and the characters were well designed. The special effects weren’t all hokey and fit the movie’s go. As in most samurai films, the battles were mercurial and challenging, although not overly bloody.

The film is one of the best ASIAN fantasy-epic films I’ve seen thus far. The dvd I have was mastered in High-def widescreen(EXTREMELY Gripping transfer) with 5.1 (DTS) digital audio(I didn’t net mind in AMAZON) . I highly recommend this film, now I have to yell for a PREQUEL about the warring clans before! 4.5 stars all the plot!!

Kagero ROCKS!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

ADDED: I managed to explore the U.S. region-1 release by Funimation. It is less than 2 minutes shorter than the region-3 DTS-ES Hong Kong release. Nothing relevant was missing, except for an extended beginning and Oboro’s encounter with one of the Kouga warriors. The video of the Asian release is a lot sharper/crisper than the Funimation transfer. As I view, the Funimation transfer was derived from the Thai version.

In the same spirit of Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon, Shinobi goes very deep into cultural roots with a heavy dose of “Animé” like action to produce a compelling adore sage rich with visual fanfare.

Though the romantic site is not as much as Crouching Tiger or House of Flying Daggers, it is mild a compelling memoir for which you will want to know how it ends. But frankly, the staunch meat and potatoes of this movie is about the combat and the very Animé inspired characters. There are other live action animés out there, but this has like a flash taken it’s situation to my number one approved amongst them. Bonus points for making this accessible to the commence non-initiated public. Naruto fans should get the same kind of intriguing character concepts, assign for the fact that everything is taken with a very feeble tone (no teen traditional ninjas here) . Anyone who liked Warriors of Zu Mountain or Storm Riders will definitely want to assume this up.

It seems that many have missed the main idea of the movie, it’s not really about going around and shooting everybody who is bad. This movie really portray’s peoples morals and relations towards each other. How they were and how they changed in a new govermental structure. There is something to think about in this movie and there is a lot to learn. Considering that many univercities use it in sociology classes. This movie might not have hollywood special effects,it does not follow same senceless plot, and it doesn’t have fearless Rambo running around like in majority of action movies. But it shows how things are with ordinary people. I woiuld say that this movie has a bite of harsh reality. I would highly recommend this movie. Also i would like to point out that if you saw Brother then you should see second movie Brother 2, which takes place in USA.

In Brother (Brat) Sergei Bodrov jr. portrays with great skill a young Russian returning from the war and attempting to re-enter Russian Society. In the end, Danila (Bodrov) ends up as a hitman with an almost noble sense of justice. With the “bad guys” wasted, and the situation under control Danila’s next stop is “Maskva” (Moscow). An oustanding movie, we can but wait for the sequal that has just come out in Russian theaters.

Last weekend I had the top-notch fortune to survey this captivating, informative, and very disturbing DVD.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Nietzsche and the Nazis! Click Here

I am an avid fan of the History Channel and other forums exploring the theme that ideas have consequences but this fragment of work was better than nearly everything else along these lines I have seen.

The Nazis, who murdered roughly 12 million people — among them the 6 million plus or minus Jews we have all heard of — were a really vicious bunch. But what is more spicy and distinguished is that they were not barbarians but came from Europe’s most educated population, the Germans.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Nietzsche and the Nazis! Click Here

Their main theme was the idealization of Das Volk, “The People,” not severally but collectively, as a genuine tribe for the welfare and advancement of which everything could be sacrificed, especially individual liberty and independence.

Here was a group of fanatics who wholeheartedly believed in the righteousness of their absorb zealotry and urged it upon all their followers, of whom there were millions — the Nazi party was voted into power several times and by the waste some 90% of Germans voted for it. Hitler came to power democratically, by “the will of the people” (a phrase we have recently heard in these United States as well) .

Nazism was openly in favor of irrationalism, championing instinct over reason, order over liberty, and self-sacrifice over the pursuit of happiness.

Nazis hated the classical liberal ideals represented by the United States of America; they despised free enterprise and imposed a version of socialism — national socialism, to be exact — wherever they could. The main disagreement between their version of socialism and that of the Soviet Union was that they advocated socialism for the nation, unlike the Soviets who wanted it spread internationally.

A persistent expect that has bothered historians, psychologists, sociologists, and nearly anyone who has given the matter any notion is how this monstrous regime could arise in the midst of a relatively civilized residence like Western Europe and its crown jewel of a culture, Germany.

Many hypotheses have been advanced, including one in particular which has always been both inviting and controversial. This is that positive ideas dominant in German culture had a colossal deal to do with the Nazi’s rise to power. And the central figure who has been proposed as responsible for these ideas is the 19th century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.

I will not give away the memoir Professor Hicks tells with such clarity and subtlety but I do wish to mention that as far as I can recount — and I have studied some of these matters over my career as a philosophy teacher — he gives a very well balanced presentation of fair why Nietzsche did in fact support the Nazis and in what method his views differ from theirs quite significantly.

On first inspection, for example, it is not easy to possess that the Nazi’s interrogate for subservience and unselfishness fit well with Nietzsche’s ideal of “the will to power.” But if one looks deep enough one will realize that the will to power was not to be build in the service of the individual person but of the tribe or culture.

Individual flourishing didn’t interest Nietzsche; collective triumph did. And on this the Nazis fully agreed with him. No wonder they invoked his legacy over and over again in their literature.

On the other hand, Nietzsche would not likely have favored the sort of politicization of the ideal of the superman that the Nazis promulgated. He would have left politics aside concerning how the future of humanity was to unfold so long as it eager a revolution in our right values. (He deemed faded — especially Judeo-Christian morality — perverse, an enemy of a fully flourishing, instinct-driven human life!)

Professor Hicks’ presentation is immensely rich with facts, quotations, analysis, and insight. Especially challenging is the list of erudite Europeans — Valid Laureates and the like — who eagerly supported the Nazis, as well as the beloved Nazi slogans which are often exactly what our enjoy politicians rush us to internalize — for example, about the superiority of the public interest over the private one.

Anyone with objective an ounce of interest in new knowing and political history will bag watching this DVD a disturbing as well as riveting experience.

I expected the entire documentary to focus on the influence of Nietzche’s writings on the ideology of National Socialism. But instead the first 1/3 is solely devoted to the rise of the Nazis. Topics discussed include how such a barbaric movement was able to carry out power in the original, educated nation of Germany and the horrific devasation wrought by the Nazis, including the assassinate of over 12 million Jews, Slavs, homosexuals and others.

The middle section explains the basics of Nietzsche’s philosophy. Ideas discussed include his opinion that Europe had been weakened by its acceptance of a Judeo-Christian ethic that promoted self-restraint and caring for the awful and sickly. Instead Nietzsche believed in striving for power, seeking dangerous adventure and the triumph of the strong over the veteran. To attain this people must close depending on reason and return to their instinctual drives and impulses. This would eventually lead to a accelerate of Supermen who would buy humankind to fresh levels of greatness.

The final 1/3 discusses the similarities and differences between the beliefs of Nietzche and the Nazis. For example, while Nietzche was staunchly opposed to the Judeo-Christian tradition he was not actually anti-Semitic. In fact, Nietzche would have undoubtly been horrifed by many aspects of National Socialism, including the Holocaust. But it is also certain that the Nazis were heavily influenced by the writings of Nietzche and extinct them as an ideological justification for their murderous atrocities.

This doc serves as an suited intro to the philosophy of Nietzche as well an provocative discussion of the relationship between his ideas and those of the Nazis.

It’s been almost four years since I first saw Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and wrote my review for Amazon.com. After seeing the modern complete version on Blu-Ray, I conception I’d reach succor and offer my thoughts only to sight that my unique review was transferred over from the DVD edition. That review was written at a different time, before the DVD was even released in the States. I opinion about going help and revising it, but that’d be changing the past. What I will add are my thoughts on the fresh Blu-Ray edition.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Final Fantasy VII – Advent Children! Click Here

Firstly, if you’re looking at the Blu-Ray edition, wondering if it’s a profitable lift, it definitely is. It’s a worthy pleasant version to the fresh, both in express and clarity. Obviously, with the Blu-Ray the record quality and sound quality have been considerably increased. There’s a few tiny nitpicks, such as a sparkling, aliasing spot that pops up every now and then (The Resident Evil: Degeneration Blu-Ray had a similar pickle) and it can be distracting. But the details are so remarkable clearer now that it looks like a unusual movie.

Additionally, recent yell has been added to this release. A lot of times, “director’s cuts” can be detrimental to the film and the pacing, but in the case of Advent Children, I appreciated the original convey. I absorb there’s an additional 26 minutes added and these parts delve into the Geostigma and the origins of some of the characters as well as an extended fight between Cloud and Sephiroth. Overall, I judge the additions are useful and befriend do the movie more of a movie and less an extended chop scene. It’s impartial too poor that it didn’t reach with a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII like it did in Japan…

Buy,Download, Or Stream Final Fantasy VII – Advent Children! Click Here

On to my fresh review as it was assist in 2005:

Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Marlene, Barret, Vincent. The names could go on. This series reigns in many Final Fantasy fans’ minds as being the best. Though in original years a lot of people roll their eyes and say its over-rated (and it might be), for me, and for a lot of fans, Final Fantasy was a turning point in the genre not only in terms of graphics and presentation but also in account. I have been playing video games and RPGs since the very first NES. Final Fantasy VII was the first game that made me terminate and go, wait when did a video game become something more than honest pushing buttons?

Now we have the official sequel, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Advent Children is basically a fancy price written for the fans of VII. Those who did not invest 40, 50, 60+ hours into the game will probably have no interest in it. But those who were worried when (should I even say spoiler? ) Sephiroth murders Aeris, who have a deep connection to the characters, and over the 40-60+ hours grew so attached to them that to this day they collected device fan art or gaze for that elusive plot to acquire Aeris aid in game(it doesn’t exist, by the plot), this movie will mean something.

AC is a magnificent CG movie taking status two years after the events of FFVII. While the ending of VII was climactic and exhilarating, providing a resolution of sorts to the people of Midgar, it did not provide a resolution, gratified or not, for Cloud. In fact, it left him empty and injure as we fetch in the beginning of Advent Children. What AC does is attain Cloud’s legend. Another reviewer here made a comment that he liked FFVII’s ending. I do too, don’t fetch me detestable. But the one thing it didn’t do was ruin Cloud’s memoir. For the length of the game, you have a deeply personal chronicle surrounded by the world epic and while the world got its ending, the people enthusiastic did no, dismal or not. As I said, AC ends Cloud’s yarn with a bang. And it is damn well worth the wait.

I don’t deem it would be apt of me to talk about what happens in AC. Share of the fun and surprise is to stare how well it fits together, brings memories of the video game and works to acquire an emotional core. I will support the review as spoiler free as possible because I know I’m tired of reading reviews where people stick in something that can demolish the whole movie.

For those who didn’t play or peruse FFVII, this movie will not have great resonance since it’s basically for the fans, both die-hard and casual. Those who loved FFVII will more than likely appreciate this movie. AC is basically an action movie and the action is spectacular although the dead motion was outmoded (while effectively) a miniature distinguished. The sword play, the battles and the action is all directed with style oozing everywhere. The characters are all though-provoking exceedingly well and the animators did a ample job in making PS1 characters into spectacular CG. The musical derive varies for me from being genuine to honest okay. By far, the best moments are ones I can’t talk about aurally for alarm of spoiling surprises. Needless to say, the music is at its greatest when it brings in hints of FFVII, the video game.

There are a lot of connections to both VII and the Final Fantasy series as a whole. From moogle dolls to The Turks, the game oozes both FFVII and FF; although I was disappointed in not seeing any chocobos, there are a few moments that made up for it. One in particular revolves around the games Waste Battle Theme. Hilarious, laugh out loud scene. There are some minor annoyances. A couple of the scenes felt episodic and not connected. Some scenes were directed very well and lead into each other or intercut between each other. But there are a couple scenes that stand out because they didn’t feel attached to what was going on. In fact, it felt as if they were lop scenes from a video game. Did this detract from the movie? Not in the least, but its there nonetheless.

What surprised me the most with this movie is that it wasn’t done to milk the saga. I mean, of course its there to build money, and FFVII is a stout contrivance to do it because of fans’ care for for it. Anything in the business world is made around making money. But what I mean exactly is best represented in FFX-2. I am one who did not collect FFX-2 at all involving. In fact it is the only FF game I gave up on. It felt like it was a diagram of milking FFX for a cramped more money while the wait for FFXII kept getting longer and longer. However, AC is so intrinsically related to VII that it has a heart and emotion that I haven’t seen in many movies released this year. I felt chills from the very opening moments as the narrator explained some of the events from VII and we perceive a flashback of Sephiroth standing in front of flames. And that was impartial the initiate of the thrills; there are scenes both emotional and thrilling to be found throughout the 1 hour 40 minutes of the film. And what glad me above all else was that Cloud’s record finally received a perfect resolution.

I assume most fans have been hoping and wishing that Aeris would return and I deem the creators give a spacious retort to this in this movie. I won’t spoil the ending, I won’t yell you who does and doesn’t return. But I will voice you the resolution is damn well awesome and probably the most satisfying ending to what is by far many people’s popular (if clichéd) choice for the Final Fantasy series. I do need to accomplish a plea and I apologize for it, but if you downloaded this movie (like a determined reviewer did *cough*) please aid it when it comes out here in the States and grasp it. We need to point to benefit to Square-Enix that this is the kind of sequel we want to survey. They spent a long time and a lot of money making a movie that is teach to DVD here in the states. We need to return the favor and help it.

Square-Enix, my hats off to you for handling this with flair, tenderness and sympathy for the characters.

About the Film:

I followed Advent Children closely from the first time it was announced some time in 2004. I am a die-hard Final Fantasy fan, and although I would have preferred the sequel to one of the greatest games of all time (Final Fantasy VII) to be, well, a game, I was happy to scrutinize the myth continued in a medium with slightly more widespread appeal. Although the writers made an misfortune to allow this movie to stand on its have, people who have played the game (and remember the location and characters) will certainly glean considerably more out of it.

About This Release:

In production since about 2006, this version of the film, subtitled “Complete” is the Japanese equivalent of a director’s slit. In addition to a unusual high-definition transfer of the film several scenes have been extended or reworked and recent scenes have been added to further round out the myth and provide more visual flash. It may not seem like mighty while watching it, but in total the film has been extended by fully a third taking it from 90 minutes to 2 hours running time.

Visuals:

Although worthy, I have to say I was expecting more from the High-Definition release of this movie. My first misgiving is with the inconsistent visual quality. The newly added scenes are generally presented with the kind of bewitching visual detail that HD enthsiasts have reach to put a question to. The older scenes, while clearly providing more detail than the DVD release, are missing the clarity that suitable HD material is of, often appearing fuzzy or out of focus. It is not generally noticeable, but it does become an clear annoyance in a couple of scenes. Arguably this could have been done on purpose, adding a “fuzzy” filter for ambiance, but I doubt they would have intentionally added upscaling artifacts which are display in this film. The most essential instance I can seize is during Tifa’s scenes, particularly in the church; the aliasing on her hair is more reminiscent of a DVD being upscaled to 1080p than of a novel render done in 1080p.

Little touches have been added to further “sell” the quasi-realism that this film is striving to effect. During battles characters’ faces collect dirty, during one scene flecks of dust in the air created minute shimmers.

Story:

While the same tale is being told, the added/extended scenes and to an extent the visual enhancements do add a different slant on the residence of Advent Children. While the main points of the epic remain unchanged, the site is made clearer and clear elements which seemed random or unimportant steal on fresh meaning.

[Spoiler alert!]

For example, during a scene a girl carrying a stuffed moogle comes up to Denzel and holds out her hand for him to follow. In the fresh DVD release, this is really all we spy of her, but in the “Complete” release we gather to search for an earlier scene that reveals she is really trying to acquire an apology to Denzel for being shameful before.

Denzel plays a mighty more prominent role in this version. It was never obvious to me what it was that Cloud was so busy doing before I saw this release, but in this version it is revealed that he was out looking for a cure to the Geostigma so he could serve Denzel.

In the DVD release, the Geostigma seemed like small more than a charcoal colored rash that slowly killed people. In this version it is noteworthy more rank, causing sores that ooze sticky dusky sludge and induces violent convulsions and vomiting of the same sunless sludge.

[End spoilers]

I’ll leave the spoilers at that, but I’ve only revealed a couple of the dozen or so situation augmentations that this version of the film brings to the table. Most of them gave me that “Ooooh that’s what they meant. I rep it now.” feeling. Maybe I’m honest listless, but a lot of these things weren’t definite to me in the film’s new presentation.

Sound:

This film really benefits from the expanded HD audio – more so if you have the equipment to properly decode the newer HD audio formats, but even when down sampled to Dolby Digital, the sound is richer and has great fewer compression artifacts. Some of the music has been remixed slightly and it seems like I heard one or two additional compositions. Many of the songs were written to lock in with determined scenes, and when the scenes were extended, so was the music. I was very impressed with how seamless it all seemed.

Voice acting is one of those things, like pizza toppings, that nobody seems to be able to agree on. I have never been terribly picky about direct acting, but since everyone is different I’ll attempt to provide some frame of reference for my thought. My plan of unpleasant divulge acting is the Devil May Weep anime, and my opinion of splendid jabber acting is Cowboy Bebop. I deem the yell acting is grand in Advent Children. I was particularly blissful to hear the voices chosen for the ancillary characters like Barret, Cait Sith, Red XIII, Yufie, Vincent and Cid. But the actors chosen for main characters Cloud, and Tifa were very superior matches for what I imagined the characters from the game would sound.

Extras:

This review is of the Japanese release, and frankly I did not really care enough about the extras to check them out. I watched them once when the DVD release came out and can’t be bothered to do it again. This does near with an additional keen “episode” about Denzel. For those of you who want to know absolutely everything there is to know about how a movie was made, you will not be disappointed with the depth.

For me the dependable attraction in the extras was the inclusion of the Final Fantasy XIII playable demo. Since the PS3 is state free, the Japanese release is very import salubrious. (If you don’t mind that it is all in Japanese) The U.S. release mentions a Final Fantasy XIII “preview”. I don’t know if that means that it will be a demo, or an extended trailer. It would be a shame if it was the latter.

Final Thoughts:

I wish all “director’s carve” releases could enhance the unique presentation as well as Advent Children Complete does. The extra footage catapulted this already colossal movie firmly into the category of awesome. If you didn’t devour the first release because you fair didn’t “earn it” then this release may be objective what you need to establish the pieces together as many of the more vague areas of the region are clarified. If you loved the first one, then you’ll appreciate this one even more. About the only thing it is missing is the ability to sight the novel release version of the film. Personally that isn’t an content for me but it would have been a nice addition.

Although this review is for the Japanese release, I doubt mighty will change in the final U.S. version. My reasoning is that the the DVD release was nearly identical for the two territories, and there are only two months between Blu-ray releases.

Yet another juggernaut has made its design across the Pacific – and this time, it has attitude. Another mega-hit manga adapted into a mega-hit Anime series, Bleach brings a whole fresh definition to the word “Action-Adventure” – and does it with style.

Young Anime artist Kubo Noriaki’s (also known as “Kubotite”) “Bleach” is the epic of 15-year passe Ichigo Kurosaki, who is ANYTHING but an ordinary high-school student. Possessing superhuman “Reiatsu” (loosely translated as “spirit force/ability”), he has the ability to ogle and communicate with Spirits of the recently deceased. However, Ichigo’s life is changed forever when an evil-spirit, a “Hollow” threatens his family and friends. In the process, he encounters a young Soul Reaper named Rukia, who after being gravely wounded, entrusts Ichigo with her powers. Becoming a “substitute”, Ichigo unwittingly receives the task of performing Rukia’s duties on Earth, which include vanquishing Hollows, and “burying” edifying spirits by sending them to “Soul Society” (a kind of Japanese “Heaven”) . And so begins the saga of Ichigo Kurosaki, Substitute Soul Reaper.

Considering the spacious fan-base in the US, as well as Japan, it seemed as though it was only a matter of time that “Bleach” The Anime made it overseas. Already a major hit with internet viewers, as well as a best-selling translated-English manga, Bleach takes mature Japanese culture and heritage and sends it smashing into heroic, hip, fresh style – and with surprisingly incredible results. Almost every character in Bleach is sharp, developed, and well-defined. Writing is grand, and viewers will certainly pick up themselves gasping in panic one moment, and breaking out laughing the next.

Refreshing, novel, and genre-defining, Bleach is a gem among 21st century Anime. Although a uniquely Japanese anime, this explain should point to to fetch over even the most skeptical viewers in the States – as long as you remember not to believe a book by its bleached mask.

I have always been an anime fan as it was a natural progression from my Transformers and to a lesser extent Voltron days. Japanese anime seemed to be the next logical step. Maybe each year I go through one series or two series for my anime fix. And I admit that some series hasn’t lasted more than 5 shows with me. To me anime is meant to display you some action that can’t be done with film (like Gundam), imaginative (Evangelion or even the manga Death Impress), or droll (Slam Dunk, Dragon Ball, 10 episodes out of like 200 for Naruto), and definitely have that impress of suspense.

Bleach has everything in an absolutely brilliantly written state line. It has more characters than any anime I have ever seen and the writer made it so well integrated with the tale line that the record doesn’t miss a beat or leave a moment of confusion. There is no other anime that can introduce a cast of so many characters without feeling any slowdown. The main character is firmly established, but the side characters add to the drama, suspense, action, and can be so humorous that suffers of asthma should consult their doctors before watching or unbiased bear your inhaler really discontinuance.

So addictive it makes you curse the bustle at which your dvd player will commence to save in the next disk or the fact that you have to wash your hands after you pee. And I thank god that for most of the episodes out so far there isn’t that annoying 2-10 mins of flashbacks each episode so you DON’T feel like the fable isn’t attractive mercurial enough and unlike other animes feel that the insensible producers were too idle to earn any valid progress in the reveal. If anything sometimes I felt the epic was provocative too rapid since I was hoping this series wouldn’t demolish too soon.

Perhaps I am coming off as over zealous for a single series and a rabid ANIME fan. But the thing is I am not. I enjoy probably about 1300 DVD’s with only 12 of those 1300 dvd’s anime dvd’s. Out of those dvd’s I probably only contemplate 100-200 movies multiple times. So far I have watched the first 90 episodes of Bleach two times as the author really broke the mold with this series by including everything, the action, the suspense of reality, the comedy, the perambulate jerking moments, and a storyline that has some serious ambition to finally assume down the outmoded powerhouses that stand today (sadly I must admit I am watching the series the third time to indicate my girlfriend’s brother, but now I honest seem to marvel at the record line and anticipate the moments I know are coming.)

And I admit that I am even maybe a closet anime fan as I normally don’t disclose the girls I date I observe the stuff, but this was so beneficial I got my girlfriend who has never watched an anime before in her life because of the “dork” factor addicted to Bleach.

My only complaint is the new chronicle arc (around the last 20 episodes) seems to fair be dragging out the narrative to milk the air time and profit for a series that hopefully ends with the bang the first 90 started. (has a total of 114 episodes released to date in Japan)

For one thing, this movie pivoted on the theme of baseball is a world better than the Madonna/Davis starring “A league of their gain” or the more unique travesties like “A field of dreams”. For another, the schism between American and Japanese ideologies/way of life is impartial so truly captured that it is difficult to enjoy this movie is not the de-facto recommendation for people eager in Japan. Guess it missed out on the major league scene because, well, quite literally it is not about US major leagues?

A US baseball star (Selleck) is traded to a Japanese baseball team and finds himself at quick-witted loggerheads with the extant coach of the team. This, plus a shrimp romantic sub-plot as he falls in like with the coach’s daughter.

Barring some minor cheesy moments — e.g., when the coach takes Selleck to a golf driving range and makes him hit the balls with a baseball bat, only to hear “I want to hit balls” instead of “I want to hit baseballs”…hmm — the accuracy of Japanese life is truly handsome. Including, eating ramen with vociferous slurps, digging chopsticks vertically in rice bowls being a no-no, the language ragged to communicate between the American/Japanese, even a scene with a genuine on-sen. A refreshing crash after stereotype galore seen in movies of that time, including the consuming “Sunless Rain” or the absolutely goofball “Rising Sun”.

To cleave to the drag, this is an under-rated gem of a movie, very well shot, some messages about life and profession as seen from two very different perspectives that are likely to resonate with either side. Selleck takes the cake with his acting, baring his tush (literally, I may add) to report a grouchy American, snubbing people relentlessly and throwing tantrums in public, then letting us inside this character to understand his views. Takakura Ken, needless to say, is bright as usual.

A must eye if you are eager in Japan, or baseball, or a superior light-hearted corrupt cultural consume on life and sport.

MR. BASEBALL is a film of paradoxes. Written and filmed as a “light, sports comedy” it truly has a heartwarming core as human and universal as some of Capra’s finest. At the position level, you have the paradox of baseball, a stunning musty American game, as it is played in Japan – turned around, with American values cast off and Japanese values imprinted upon the game. (Some of the superficial “sports comedy” results from Jack’s uncomprehending disbelief at how “basa-boru” is played in Japan.) You also have a lead character who’s presented as an over-the-hill, aging baseball star, but who is actually quite immature – pro ball allowed him to postpone growing up. And you have a lead character who is rudely resistant to the changes in his life that are being forced upon him, refusing to earn the curveball that life has given him, in the midst of a original country, a unusual manager, a recent team, and a novel girlfriend, who have all welcomed him and try to salvage him. Sound like heavy stuff? Not really. It’s a charming “clash of cultures” comedy that takes spot on the national, sports, romantic, and professional levels. But if you peruse it sensitively enough, you will also glean a tall yarn about a man who has to abandon his immaturity and grow up procedure too slow in life (causing some amount of personal hurt), and finds success in places he never expected it. I adore the record, but I also have expansive respect for Selleck’s performance; he bares his tush (literally) to describe an gross American, insulting people and throwing tantrums in public, then lets us inside this character to understand his terror. It also doesn’t damage if you’re a substantial fan of Takakura Ken like I am. MR. BASEBALL is a surprising “loss of innocence” story.
